Webtoons is doing a Webtoon Canvas Festival thing in a few weeks, which will have a digital artist alley thingy on August 18th, and I'm gonna be there! I guess barely anyone submitted to participate? They wanted you to prove you had some sort of merch store, so I submitted my teepublic page and they were all "okay cool" and there we go!
Idea is I'm gonna stream myself working on the Kat webtoon, and maybe doodle a bit? Who knows!

Started watching Zillion. For a late 80s TV series it has some top notch animation. Some cuts I'd compare to OVA levels of quality. It being a SEGA venture I guess they poured a lot of money into it or something. Plot wise it's good. Hasn't blown me out of the water, but I haven't been bored with it.

Left work early today as I wasn't feeling the greatest and super tired because I had a new AC installed in my apartment and the thermostat makes a loud clicking noise whenever the AC turns on every few minutes. Wound up not watching any Aim for the Ace in the past few days. Decided to take a break for a bit before things really kick into gear in the show.

Decided to take tomorrow off, so I'm gonna have a nice 5 day weekend. Gives me plenty of time to work on stuff I'm getting behind in, like storyboards and writing and such. I think going into work early to work on comic stuff was a success! Tuesday - Thursday I went in two hours early, while on Friday I went in an hour early. Finished up Zelda TotK early Saturday before visiting family for Father's Day. I didn't finish all the shrines, but after spending 85 hours in it I was starting to get tired of playing, so I felt it was time to wrap things up and come back to it later if I want to play more shrines. Not much to report on today. Gonna be going to the folks tomorrow night and work early Friday morning (5:30 AMish) to see if that is something I can pull off and feel good about once I move back home. Finished Gunbuster. Was a wild ride from start to finish. It really is a demonstration as to why Gainax was such an awesome animation studio back in its heyday, finances notwithstanding. They seriously had some top tier talent who could pump out the coolest shit. The Gunbuster bluray has been super awesome. Only two episodes in so far, but the English dub has been really good. Always nice to hear Lisa Ortiz pop up in anime.
The video quality, though. God DAMN is it nice! The animation is stellar, and seeing all the brush strokes in the background art and the crystal clear line work is amazing. If you haven't watched it and plan to, seek the bluray out. Not sure if it's streaming anywhere, but I'm sure it'll pop up on RetroCrush one day if it isn't there...

My copy of Gunbuster on bluray finally came in. I started watching it on DVD back in 2014 as Texas A&M had a dvd copy for rent in their library, but I never finished it.
