Another huge hit that has been on my "Things to watch" list almost

Proper color blocking is a really powerful tool...๐๐จ
Even a design as intricate and challenging as Mene'lainn's can be
made to look so much more approachable and pleasing thanks
to this technique.
Having everything neatly divided into big blocks of color really helps
bring order to the big confusion of lines and details that make up
her design...!

I even decided to use a flat brush without any pressure at all, so all
the lines maintain a constant thickness across the entire canvas.
In the end not totally convinced, I think I'm missing a couple of steps
in post production.

I found a little bit of free time, so I decided to draw Yui from

This was a quick practice more focused on speed than anything else...!
Some detail here and there, but not much effort in concept,
composition, pose, lines or colors...
Just a fun snapshot to see how much I can do in one single day...

However, I always try to take the jobs that I find most fun or relevant

Client wanted something more imposing and aggressive for
the princess, and I agree with this change.
I think both poses are great, but 100% accurate sharing of a
vision between two people is almost impossible.
So the only thing left is to keep trying until you land an idea that
pleases both parties.

For me it is a hard tie between Tamaki and Hibana for the position
of best girl in the show.
They are practically opposite sides of the same coin, Tamaki being
small, cute, clumsy and not very open about her feelings and on the
other hand Hibana is strong, reliable, graceful and rather
overwhelming with her displays of affection.

time I had a lot of other things on my plate, so I decided to leave it

Twisting the body to get even a small glimpse of both, butt and boobs,
all at the same time. Perhaps I am too greedy. But making a choice is
really hard when you can have it all, you just need to land the lines
correctly.

In my personal approach to character design, I prefer to be
outrageous than to be forgettable...!
When creating a new character, having other people's opinions too
much in mind can lead you to discard crazy or risky ideas, but going
the safe route is what will lead you to end up with bland and
forgettable characters.
Yeah, this method is definitely pretty hit and miss.
You will end up with a pile of junk 90% of the time but the occasional
diamond can also spring up without warning...๐
