Mrs Yip's Big Interview part 2 (alt angles)

There's a lot to see in this scene... the colser POV image was nearly the main image. It was too similar to the other to have them both and although this was maybe a better composition, it didn't feel as good narratively. But anyway, there Nelson is, hanging on while there is quite a comotion in the street and the camera crew fall about as they are momentarily forgotten.

Tricia pulled her gaze away from the struggling figure and back up towards the beaming face of Mrs Yip. Gathering herself she continued the interview.

I love this angle, and if I hadn't gone into the project thinking that I wanted a rooftop shot at hip height as she strides past the camera this might have been the main image. In any case, I wanted to render it out in 4k and thought that it would be great for Mega Bosses to have. A Walk in the Rain (alt. angles)

I wanted to try a lot with this set. Rain, a new city with lights, wet skin, tatts... And I really think it all came together so well. I think the rain looks very effective and these buildings are really cool and I might be able to plan bigger citiees with them. And it's got that foggy, glowy, foreboding atmos. Hopefully slighty Batman or Bladerunner.

I've been trying to lay some foundations for the new year while I'm super busy and I wanted to share what's coming up. This month, for the next three posts I'm actually going to be re-visiting a couple of scenes as well as as new one where I tried a lot of new things.

Unforeseen Consequences 1 (alt. angles)

I'm not as pleased with these shots as I'd like to be, so I'm labelling them as sketches. When you make characters really small they can become little glowing orbs as you need to fiddle with the skin settings to get them to calm down and look like normal humans. For some reason, even though all the settings are the same, some body parts are glowing more than others. It all worked in the main image, but not so well in the close ups, where the intense lighting causes some strange things to happ...

I had been wanting to make this scene for a long time. The cruise ship deck was one of the first props I bought from the Daz store but I don't think I've had the skill to make the scene work until now. I've needed to make the model look wet, and the environment look hot, and really get that scale to be apparent. I hope I've succeeded now. I found writing this story really difficult, trying too convey what was in my head. Hopefully if fleshes out the scene though!

I've been wanting to make something like this for a while. It's a little bit like an update of land of the giants, where the tiny pilot has come from across the stars, or maybe into a different dimension, to a modern earth where humans are 100 times her size. A dangerous place to be indeed. Who knows, maybe there are more little people crash landed out there ;)

“Dammit”, Mallorei cursed under her breath as she ducked behind the unconvincing cover of the translucent curved wall. A beam of light swept over the area she was in just as she got out of the open, but this was a poor hiding spot. Maybe she shouldn’t have left the apparent safety of her ship, but in many ways she was glad she was no longer inside it as it lay lit up but powerless at the feet of the behemoth. There are quite a few angles for this image and they came out pretty well. There are lots of characters scattered around Priya's growing body, and close ups that needed to be shared. There was a lot of work to do with the destruction effects so I wanted to make the most of it. Not perfect and definitely things to improve on but very satisfying.

It was a reality show where some local people from a town were turned into giants, and given tasks and challenges to do around town. Little is Now Large

This is really an abandoned set that I've been holding onto for ages, but now it seems, I've run out of backup material to post! I made this quite a few months ago and I've learnt a lot since then.

The alt views but this time in 4k as an extra special thanks to Mega Boss patrons. Because it's not got HD figures, and there's not too much in the way of volumetrics and effects the render times weren't too frightening to do these 4k images. As I've said before, it's great to be able to try out these alternative angles to see what I might like to do another time. Adding smoke clouds, rubble, or explosions could change many of these into alpha images. There's also a couple of WIP images here ...

There's something a little like the giant mother scene in "Honey I Blew Up The Kid" in the external shot, but mostly because of the night environment I think (and she's bigger in this one!) Also you get more of a look at the passengers even if the giantess is still cloaked in the night.
