Here's the new player design. Of course there will be other playable characters available (not in the demo) but they'll all be modified versions of this base. The previous design was mostly an afterthought, I think this more furrier version fits better and has a more cohesive aesthetic. The arms are only visible when nothing is held, otherwise it uses the old Rayman approach.

Here's an example of a Gryd outpost. Story-wise they function as reconnaissance nodes that keep an eye out for any unusual activity, especially after a certain historical adversary. They use a big bonfire to send a smoke signal in the event that a threat is imminent. This is a Gryd, they comprise the first culture you run into. They're very tribal and distrustful of outsiders, living in various outposts across the swampy parts of the jungle, and their capital hidden on the other side of a cave network.

I think this might just be my favorite sprite yet. There can still be some things done to the walk cycle but overall I'm very happy with the results. I do want redo the player puppet now though.

Dialogue is a thing now, there's not much to say about it, works like in any other game. The text crawl can be skipped if you find it tedious or in the event of repeating dialogue. But dialogue isn't the most interesting part of this preview, it's the way in which characters react to player state and activity. The idea isn't to make super immersive npcs, that's for another game, but small little reactions to the player farting or being naked can add a lot and will hopefully make you a bit mor...

There's now bloating, too much gas gives you a gut. Some of the effects of being bloated includes: slower walking, having a pathetically short jump, as well as lowered weapon accuracy. 

I've also changed the fart system a bit, it's no longer a bar that simply fills up, instead you have a dish that fills with upcoming gas. This one is a lil complex so let me explain. The thing in the bottom right is the gastric-panel, it does not display how much gas or waste is in your character, instead it shows how close either are to leaving your character (the yellow being gas, the brown being feces). You can combat or hasten this by clenching or straining. Both require effort through stamina, which is that green circle that appears and disappears next to the player. This is solely meant to showcase how the skirt deforms in reaction to a fart. I used the knowledge gained from writing previous shaders like the recent water shader to make this. The importance of this little effect is that it can be applied to any skirt or even dress, because it's all just a shader, which reduces workload in implementing new clothing.
