WWII Comic WIP

The computer is taking about 4 hours to render per frame right now - but I'm definitely chipping away at finishing this bad boy here soon!

Here are a couple work in progress - unedited or filtered, direct render pics:

Lots of personal setbacks this week - I won't bore you all with that... 

I have, however, taken some time this past week to work on different angles to tell the growth part of the story from and I think I have something pretty dynamic to show. Time to let the computer do its thing and get rendering!

March Rewards Announcement

As has been done previously, when a story's creation happens to fall between bill months, I will be sending out current completed rewards (finished pages) for the March Comic here in the next couple days and then sending out final rewards when everything is completed.

 As of today I am about halfway through the WWII comic... Keep your eyes out for the completed pages link, and then everything else to follow in a week or two!

Experiment/Art Challenge

This was another - “I wonder if I could...” challenge to myself.

Could a mold and shape a face that looked similar enough to Tony the Tiger, and then also use substance painter to create an illustration accurate version of his coat?

Challenge accepted! (Completed) on to the comic growth sequence!

March Comic Update!

Little update on this months comic... 

I have had a few setbacks this week; the head gasket on my car blew 😔 and today I will be dealing with getting it towed into a shop to see how much damage is done. General estimate from just talking to the guy was quite a bit ( upwards of $1500 ). 

I did however get the next pages added (11-12) - and will be working on the growth sequence this weekend for you all. I probably will wrap everything up here in the comic week, and the...

"Gym Bros" Short Story - FINISHED

Ooookay!

The short story is FINISHED (See below). Next steps are to get everything packaged up for the different rewards tiers, ie: PDF and iBooks plus the other stuff! Should have stuff to everyone by this weekend... Then its back to the grind stone on the HarryPotter stuff!

Had to Change Gears...

(Updated Monday Feb 25 - Page 4 added)

You all know how much time I take planning, and how... particular I am in making sure I deliver  a SOLID story as well as imagery to go along with it. 

It is something that I take great pride in, as it sets my work apart from other 3D and muscle growth artists out there. There is a lot invested into every single render and page and I think it shows. 

Well, this month I have hit somewhat of a snag... I spent A LOT of time ...

WIP First Page

Still need to add dialogue... but here is a sneak peak of the first page of the HP comic - Harry and Ron walking to work (Ministry of Magic).

I'm still hashing out the story, but I'm fairly certain where its going to go now... 😈

Comic question results...

Well... 63% of the 73 that participated in the poll said they preferred the comic book layout over full frame artwork stories. So for the time being It looks like we will steer down that path and stay with the comic book style!

Comic Question...

First things first...I love creating the comic books. This medium is definitely fodder for it. 

But one of the draw backs that I see is how the images lose their artistic weight when they are divided by panel on on comic pages.

My question to you all is - would you still like to see the comic layout, or more individual full frame image slides that are able to capture more of the given scene. 

An example of this would be the artwork currently done by Priapus of Mile...
