Content Creation Reminder

I just wanted to let you guys know that because of the number of polygons in these scenes, I have to render the backgrounds and characters separately. Even though this takes time, it greatly increases the individual rendering speed by hours.

I then assemble the separate PNGs together in Photoshop, color grade them, add lighting effects, and then place them on the page, adding speech bubbles and narration. This explanation also does not account for posing characters and finding the righ...

@mygetaway art had a super cute illustration of a glitching pleasure droid (see attached), which inspired me to make my own NSFW version for you guys.

After the intensity of work, I put in on the latest release of TheBonding, I wanted to take a breather and have a creative outlet unrelated to our story.

I'm back in the trenches this week, cooking up the next (and final) chapter for you guys!

Then, we will be moving on to our next storyline!

Which would you like to see next?

I am tossing some ideas around as I continue to work on The Bonding Part ii storyline, and I would like your opinion on which direction you all would like to take when this storyline wraps up.

I have toyed with the idea of bringing you all a separate deep sea continuation set in the same world as the first story from last year. As well as the separate idea of what might happen if someone came across the shrine of an Egyptian Fertility God.

Work in Progress - Behind the Scenes

The next scene of our story takes us on a date with Davy and Karl. They are sitting outdoors on the patio of a New York Bistro.

For the establishing shot of this scene (pictured above), I wanted to showcase the whole of the intimate dining area to the reader, which would require lots of 3D models.

My computer is maxed out with several graphics cards and a ton of RAM, but even with this setup, rendering 14 characters, Scenes, and emissive signage requires a lot of geometry and ray...

Working this week

This week I’ve been working on building and lighting out next scene. I should be rendering by tonight and through this weekend - to hopefully have pages to you early next week (Tuesdayish)

The Bonding Part ii - Pages 1-2

When a render comes out perfect!

I will often have to render a shot several times because one thing or another doesn't turn out right. Sometimes, the opposite happens, and everything I spend hours setting up to render just clicks, and I get a shot that makes me happy.

As I was rendering scenes for the first part of our story, this shot came out, and I had to share it. Everything about it — the framing, depth of field, lighting, pose, and expression of the model—just makes me smile! Plus - isn't Karl adorable?

Venom Suit Updates

One of the things I ran into in the last story was being able to light a scene and not having the whole costume just disappear in shadow. So I've tweaked some things this time around. Overall, I'm very happy with Davy's Venom suit.

BTS - Scene one setting.

I just completed the set and lighting for our first scene.

When I get these sets, I usually have to change out textures and completely redo the lighting (for various reasons) Usually because the time of day needs adjusted for the scene.

SPECIAL IMAGE RELEASE - BEAST '97

Creating this rendition of Professor McCoy was a fun challenge; getting the fur to fit right on the muscular body took a lot of work, but I'm very happy with how it turned out!

I hope you've enjoyed these renders while I've been developing the sets for the next story. 

I will have a TEST render from the new story for you all soon and pages of the comic to follow!

Finding just the right metal finish for this guy took a decent amount of time. It was a blend of galvanized steel with an added underlayer for the seams. Overall, he is a fun addition to our little cast here!
