Development Update #79

The second test build of Episode 11 was just sent out to my testers and I'm pretty confident I'll be able to release the game this week.
I'm also finished with the script of Episode 12, which is being proofread right now as well. I haven't created a single render yet for Episode 12, as I've been caught up in the release frenzy of v0.11.

Development Update #78

Grueling is the word I'd use for the past weeks. Working through a list of remaining renders isn't much fun after throwing out your assets library and starting fresh. Creating the remaining images took me a lot longer than I'd anticipated, because of all the missing assets I'd had to install again.

Android Test Build

Several users reported having trouble installing Episode 10 on Android devices, many of them display "App not installed" for some reason. I've tried building the game with an older version of Ren'Py, but it's too outdated and several packages aren't available for download anymore. Also, relying on an old version of a framework is bound to cause problems in the future.

A new version of Ren'Py was released recently, with updates to the Android build process. I built the test release below...

Sometimes Fortune pisses all over your face, which might make for a nice watersports scene, but doesn't help development much. I was hoping to send out a beta build this Friday and release somewhere at the end of this month. As it stands, that's not going to happen and it sucks.

Alorth made over 25 animations for this release and Grubb also managed to get the Portuguese translation done in time again.

Storyline Preview #23

Episode 11 sees the crew back on the Iron Bastard, though in what capacity I won't reveal just yet. After the crash in Episode 8, the Acarhyn have been hard at work restoring the ship to its former state. All of the crew quarters have always been cramped, which was a challenge when rendering and lighting scenes. Development Update #75

Episode 10 went over quite well with you all, I think. No major bugs have been reported, so that's nice considering the very compressed testing and bug fixing phase this release cycle. I hope the development of v0.11 will be a little smoother.

Development Update #74

I'm cutting it awfully close this time, unfortunately. Just finished up postwork for the majority of the images in Episode 10 and I'm rendering the last batch of images (for the extra scenes). Couldn't get as much work done this week, because DAZ decided it didn't like my scene files anymore and refused to load them. I think I've got the problem sorted now.

At the moment, there are over 500 renders in this episode, three extra scenes and Alorth created over 25 animations. Still need to ...

The new 3090 arrived today and is already purring away in its case. I have one of the first animations already rendered, so I think I just might be back on track.

Just came back from my holiday and I'm starting up work on Episode 10 again. Apart from some sightseeing I did quite a lot of reading and wrote parts of Episode 11 already while on vacation.

Now it's back to the renders. Alorth delivered all of the animations in my absence, I just need to render them. There's a bit of a snag though, as my main GPU died just before I went on holiday.
