2021-02-05 16:26:54 +0000 UTC View PostThis update brings a pretty big new feature: Alpha support. It's experimental as there's a few tricks involved, but basically, you can now interpolate transparent GIFs or PNG frames and your output will be transparent too.
A few things to note: Alpha support only works if your output also supports alpha (GIF input with MP4 output will not work). Also, alpha support will disabled Auto-Encode, but that shouldn't be a problem since most transparent GIFs are really short anyway.

It adds support for NVENC encoding, keeping subtitles, and exporting to MKV.
The AI models are no longer included in the install and now get dynamically downloaded. This made it possible to add a model selector. You can select RIFE 1.5, 1.6, 1.7, and (only for CUDA at the moment) 1.8.
There have been many other improvements and fixes too. Videos no longer get cut off if they end with a static frame, for example.

Encoding should no longer get stuck when Auto-Encode is enabled, and Auto-Encode no longer gets laggy when dealing with lots (>10k) of frames.

New encoding options have been added to AVI, FPS-limited exporting has been improved (now works with all formats including GIF, and has a higher quality), and the Auto-Encode mode "Delete Frames Once Encoded" now works again, it was previously disabled because it caused problems.

It also updates RIFE-NCNN, it now supports UHD mode (like RIFE CUDA) and uses the 1.7 model which supports 2D animation.
There are still a few bugs left (scene detection will change video length) but those will be fixed soon.

1.20.0 adds export support for the video formats WEBM (VP9), MOV (Apple ProRes) as well as uncompressed YUV420P AVI.
Some encoding stuff has been changed that should fix audio desync problems.
RIFE has been updated to the 1.7 model which supports 2D animation better.

This update fixes and improves a bunch of stuff.
The UHD threshold option now uses the downscaled resolution instead of the source resolution (only releveant if downscaling is applied).
Several fixed and improvements were added for de-duplication and scene detection.
And last but not least, audio quality no longer takes a hit on FPS-limited exports.

Flowframes now also accepts any video file and no longer checks the file type, enabling support for Apple ProRes MOV, 3GP, APNG and more as input.

The last frame of each interpolation is no longer excluded from the output video, JPEG mode works again, NCNN Multi-GPU works, accurate deduplication no longer freezes after a few thousand frames, and videos with uppercase file extension are no longer rejected.

V18 adds the Auto-Encode mode which encodes your output video during interpolation instead of afterwards. It also features new RIFE code that needs a lot less VRAM, as well as the RIFE 1.5 model that greatly improves interpolation quality, especially for higher resolutions, and RIFE-NCNN is faster than ever, making it viable for AMD users.
