*based on my own experience*

someone asked me how do i do when the vanishing points are too far away from the actual illustration, i do this traditionally and digitally as well, tho digitally is easier

what i do is a doodle with the composition i want and extend the vanishing points as far as needed with digital is super easy, then i trace the main stuff roughly and once i have it as i want i increase it to the final format i want and work over that doodle

here the brush i use to do manga lineart on clip studio paint, if you wondered about it :P

also keep in mind that the pressure can change depending on the pressure levels of your tablet i use the old 2048 levels, but some new have +4000, just change the pressure to a comfortable level for your pen

if you want a realistic feeling this one is good, but i only use this for specific styles like for example the opm manga and look alike

when you are aiming to do a piece where you want the background to be featured to give an atmosphere, be sure to be careful on how much degree of detail you add because lot of detail is not always good, for example

if you are doing an illustration with background but your main subject character (s), is taking 50% or more of the piece, you can take the freedom to do a detailed background with some far away object not too detailed

art advice

If you draw traditionally like me, i recommend to start your doodle with h pencils till you get a shape as you want

obviously we will have errors and will have to erase a lot, how many of you have done a mess with your paper or even broke it, what i recommend in this cases is to use tracing paper, to do any corrections you need to do and not damage the original paper, that way you work like in digital apps, in layers, and with this paper you can erase a lot because tracing paper is quit...

hi guys, just want to tell some stuff i decided to do

well mainly is that as i promised 1 year back, i was going to follow art as a business and try it this past 2020, but at the end i decided i won't, that means that i won't pursuit art anymore as a "job", i will just draw as hobby (unless something shows up, which i doubt but i don't mind anymore)

all this means that i won't do commissions, i won't do polls or anything of the sort, just whatever i feel like to, i still will be p...

there's something i can't achieve with this style and is the smooth feeling it gives, i think i clean too much, i need to leave some dirt left, for the next i bet will be better, also i think i should do the lines thicker

well took the time to do the mt.lady sketch i wanted to do time ago, idk why but i think mt. lady will do a good gang i want to practice in future sketches (if popular obviously) hahahaha

art advice

if you are a traditional lover like me and love to sketch with paper and pencil, i totally recommend to buy those famous Japanese erasers named mono, they are super expensive but believe their price is worthy is the best eraser I've used, the advantages I've noticed against others are

they don't wear down the paper as much as other erasers

they don't do lot of dirt on your desk

and the most important one if you are not clean to sketch ( i sincerely don't have that issue, I'm...

as i couldn't sleep these last 3 days, i finished this one to kill the time, the finishing wasn't as i expected hahahahaha, next time will be better, hope you like it

btw been listening the music and watching the cinematics from this game and they look cool

used the anime style with this one instead the illustration one, will save that one for any future illustration, and used clip studio paint entirely this time

here sharing this one, decided to do the line-art digitally, as i think it fits better the style, also did the shadowing outline too, ready to fill colors, i still need to do the color tests, but this was the hardest part, also is the first time i will use clip studio paint instead of retas studio to do this anime effect, it is certainly faster i think hahaha, but i'm soo used to retas studio that is like learning from the start hahaha

here sharing the current project i'm working on, first time trying this style too, will be anime style effect, so will take a few more days, btw i think i will have to do the lineart digitally because the original style has a pretty clean line before adding the anime affect (i think is 3d generated anime so hard to get that effect with traditional media)

art advice

if you ever go for oda style to art, keep in mind that they have a really hard way to color, they don't use bright colors in the general shading, only some light highlights on the contour of the character usually, but really subtle

what i found really interesting and i find hard to get when i try to use their style is that the transition between dark shadows and local color is extremely subtle they use soft gradations

they always add a light shadow around the overall shape of the ...

finished this one, mmm i tried this style again with no success hahaha, far beyond my skills, to master this style at least i have to repeat full colored illustrations 10 times, so will be hard, can't get the thing correctly mainly on the shading and the damn face proportions the damn the eyes are hard to get on this style, well sharing my failed try orz

you know i'm noticing when coloring that i have a certain fear to add too dark shadows on the art, and then decided to search info about and it seems we usually tend to not be daring with the use of dark colors when shadowing and actually that's a bad behavior, most of the realistic shadings we see use a high contrast between light and dark colors

so don't be afraid to use dark colors in the shadowing areas, if your subject is against a single source of light or even in sunlight, it is ...
