BMZ - Confession (1/2)

As I mentioned in the update post, I'll continue posting strips or regular art on Saturdays while I make more progress on the new comic. A lot of people really like the characters and I'm clearly not done with them, so I'm going to kick it off with a little two-parter dealing with the aftermath of BBD.

I had two drafts for this page. The one I discarded had a smoother transition bridging the last two scenes, but I think the jump from the hallway to the bedroom is more effective if it happens between pages, and it gives me a couple extra panels to set the "sure, I forgive you, but you've got some explaining to do later" mood of the ending better.

I'll make an update post right after this explaining future content. TLDR: I'm working on another 35 page comic, I'll begin posting it weekly once I get more work done ahead of time. On the meanwhile I'll make more strips featuring these characters, and/or regular art every Saturday, as usual.

I wonder if panel 4 here should have been another top down dutch angle view of Boomer and Miles walking up the stairs to make the callback to page 10 more noticeable but I like how it turned out anyway.

Also THE EXTRA PANEL IS NOT CANON, i'm just messing with Cody Fox's "He grabs the phone and sees "did you get the picture?" And is just ruined more." post.

I used a pic as a reference for panel 3 (can't find who the original author is right now, otherwise I'd try to credit him) and I stuck pretty close to it on the sketch, so Boomer has more muscle definition (and better anatomy, admittedly) here. I redrew the arm a little for the final pic to make it more consistent with the rest of the comic.

I think it's pretty evident that I kind of struck gold with this comic so I'd be a complete idiot if I didn't make any more long-term comics after this. I'll still be using this cast of characters for strips and stuff, maybe another long comic like this one later down the line, but I want to branch out a little and not repeat the same ideas.

You can tell by the line width in the final lineart that this is where I switched Photoshop versions when I got a new PC back in December, and then we're back to the old line width in a couple pages as the new PC's PSU did a fucky wucky and had to go back to the old rig.
To be fair having to go back to that toaster of a PC that can't run all the cool games I was playing did make me more productive and ended up finishing the last 7 pages...
