More style experiments (and rambling)

I've been enjoying trying to capture some nostalgic feelings with these experiments. And my portfolio now isn't just middle aged lesbians on plain backgrounds lmao which was slightly the reason I chose to experiment using these kids instead of my usual OC's. I'm also pretty pleased with these two in comparison to the last ones I did, I feel like this more animation style background +inked character works better for me than trying to ink things that...for me don't have lines? Something about b...

I spent too long on this one haha! I think because I've been trying to improve in other ways, I got caught up in improving the pages I was working on too. (especially that I dont often draw more zoomed out figures)

Charity Case Update (no pages this week sorry!)

I've been trying to get myself organised by sketching pages in advance (to limited success, to be honest, it's been a busy couple of weeks haha) It's a lot easier to get into the flow when I can sketch a batch, colour a batch, finish a batch, etc! But anyway, all that to say I'll be back next week! Apologies to let it fall behind a little, I really appreciate your support as I make this <3

I'm still not getting what I want (do I even know what I want?) I almost prefer the look of it without the lines, but with the black texture tbh! I'm happy with the figure though! And I like the lines on their own too hahahaha.

I never draw kids so I've been working on that, I've been feeling like I wouldn't Mind drawing someone elses story lately, so I've been trying to expand my portfolio to show I can do other stuff. I was kinda afraid I wouldnt know How to draw kids so I'm glad it worked alright lol. I'm also trying to take steps to figure out colour and line, I struggle with rendering too much, making the lines redundant!
