I ultimately ended up going back to an earlier version and just tweaked it, realizing that what had urked me so much was the positioning of the iris's. I've been continously tinkering with the eyes trying to get the eyes to look right. And while I'm on my 8th attempt and have another 3 tests printing I feel as if I am getting closer. I was having trouble visualizing how I wanted the eyes to look so I made a quick mockup pair, and slapped them onto the head with some quick markings to get a feel with how they'll look. Its not quite how I want them to look but its getting there. I think these are the 4th or 5th iteration I've made today, but I really want to get it right. Got the new mold all printed up! Honestly shocked the printer co-operated and printed everything first try given its history. I also made the armsleeves for their suit. Tomorrow I'll get a base cast up, and 3D model some eyes. While those print I'll either carve the base or start the sockpaws.

Nice to finally be back to work! It'll probably a little slow going for the first little bit, but it's nice being well enough to do physical work. Being bed bound hasn't been fun.

November Monthly Tutorial/Pattern - Furry Adopt Bases

Surgery Art

Since I've been in recovery land I've been doing some sketch adopts. Its been super nice drawing for the first time in ages, especially just for fun, though I did get started on a refsheet commission for a client of ours. That said I also did a few collab adopts with Jamie from Color Carnage which was fun, as its been years since I've been able to do art collabs with them. Definately want to do more in the future.

Stil Alive

I am about a week post now and I got my drains and catheter removed yesterday. Now that they are gone my pain is lessened and I'm more mobile. Still having trouble sitting for more than 10 minutes at a time. But I am feeling a lot more human. I was even able to shower and dress myself this morning, which was a huge victory, but it took most of my stamina.

Surgery update

Hey folks sorry for the radio silence I had some complications from surgery and I need to stay longer than expected for after care. I was hoping to be able to complete the monthly tutorial during recovery but the lack luster recovery coupled with the poor internet here means that's just not possible. I am going to try to see if I can remotely put Patreon on vacation mode so you folks wont get charged.

I will do my best to keep everyone in the loop.

While they are far from glamerous they should do the job!

I'm still hoping I can bang out a tutorial in the 24hrs I have left before I leave, realisticly the tutorial my have to wait till post-op. I will keep everyone posted as best as I can during my recovery, but please understand I may not physically be capable of posting.

I did a bit more tinkering on the printer and was able to diagnose and repair the issue so we're back in business baby!

Welp I've ordered some replacement parts which should arrive in a few days. In the meantime I'll work on the ears and start furring. I'll just have to install the eyes afterwards.

Head commission

Getting started on the head commission we picked up to fill the downtime we have. I'm unsure of the characters name, I will confirm that later, but we are doing another dragon, a particularly fluffy one at that. Stay tuned for more!

Handwefting

A client wanted to see what the mobility was like on handwefted hair so we made this quick demo for them. Figured we'd share!

Eventually I plan to do a tutorial on this. I just need a client or a premade that uses wefts so I can illustrate the techniques.

Update Time!

The final touches on Azora were done today, so tomorrow we'll be taking pictures of the suit in action. After that she'll be boxed up and sent off to her new home!

With Azora complete, we'll be moving onto a head-only commission we managed to pick up to fill our downtime before surgery. When we get back from surgery, we'll begin work on our next commission, which will be a partial for Darius.

Regarding surgery, I will be doing something a bit different this month tutorial-wise....

This is normally where is post pics and say "it's finished" but sadly theirs an issue with the lining that's causing bunching and I need to take it apart to disect. Since the bunching is affecting the calves I need to make the feetpaws first so I can ensure everything will line up. So I'm benching the bodysuit for now.
