Weekly Update - 80
I'm a little behind this week because I slacked off all weekend, but don't worry, I should be able to finish this page today and tomorrow. If I can stay focused, the flats and shading go relatively quickly, all things considered.
Also! In case you missed it, I streamed for the first time ever on our Discord server last Friday. I want to start doing this more regularly when I can... maybe if I can figure out how to put on some music and just draw and chat with you guys ...

So this week we got our first ever Landlord-tier subscriber, and I've realized that the character sheets I've been putting out just aren't GOOD enough for people who are willing to donate so selflessly to our Patreon... so today I drew this, and I'll be using it for current and future Kuserran Hero character sheets, to give them a little bit of a more clean, polished look about them.

Normally I don't participate in memes like this. I usually assume that by the time I finally get around to drawing them, people are sick to death of seeing it.
Alas, despite seeing this one literally EVERYWHERE of late, it looked fun to try drawing, I'm still short on ideas for Friday sketches and Max is a great sport, so he was more than willing to give it a go!

Happy Monday everyone! And happy... um... 3rd anniversary of God Slayers?!!!
Gods! That's right, I nearly forgot all about it. Yesterday marked the third anniversary. I started posting comics on August 8th, 2018 (8-8-18). See, because 8 is my lucky number, thus by doing so I absolutely guaranteed the success of the series. 8 is also a good number to bet on in Craps, by the way.

In case anyone is interested, I redid the dialogue from Kiva for his Character Page.
The point of doing the page this way was always to let the characters showcase their personalities, and the original upload was more of a massive exposition dump, rather than an interesting window into Kiva's mind, like it was SUPPOSED to be.
This is probably technically the fourth rewrite... I've gone back and forth a number of times because I was worried that letting Kiva's personality shine too...

Drawing so much Max lately I find myself falling in love with him all over again. This week I needed to take some time to design headphones that would fit on his giant, ridiculously shaped ears. There's still a little handwaving going on here, I'm not an engineer and Max isn't exactly three-dimensional, but hey, an effort was made. Yay for art!
Sneak preview on here too of a sketch from a panel in Page 112 I'm super super happy with.

I thought this page was going really well... but looking at it again today, it still looks really unfinished to me. Unfortunately I don't know what I should do to fix that about it.
I still struggle with these larger, setting-establishing shots I guess. Just need more practice, I suppose. At least I think my character art is improving.

Reminder to myself I've been doing this for only three years. Reminder that this is what I've chosen to do with my life because I enjoy it. Reminder that it doesn't make sense to so consistently fall short of my expectations when I don't even know what I expect. As promised! My husband/code wolf worked his butt off all day today to get it working and up.
For starters, it only features Kiva, but I included perspectives from both himself and from Max to give an idea how the character page will work. Each new character added to the page will add blurbs talking about each other character that's on there.

I imagine he's posing in a mirror trying to come up with ways to entice Kiva to staying the night.
I used a reference to get the pose and the body shape correct. If you want to look them up, the original pose came from an artist named Viskasunya. Be warned if you do go looking for their art, however, because most of what they draw is a fair bit spicier than this.

I hope this chapter isn't too confusing. I wanted to try something a little different, rapidly bouncing back and forth between Kiva and Max to sort of show the contrast between their two stories... idk... hopefully it is working the way I intend. :3
