If you know the books of Luna Wunderwald I have illustrated, Luna, the main character, also had long hair, just dark. I loved drawing her design a lot so I wanted to make my own "Luna". My 8 yo me would have loved a character like Flavia with silky blonde hair.
The 3rd picture shows 2 first attempts at drawing a girl to see in which direction I wanted to go.
