Sven was big and chubby as a teenager and starting his 20s. He started working out until he gained more self confidence in terms of his body.
His relationship with Ida or Ina (didn't decide on a name yet) lasted pretty long.
He seems totally different now and then, so weird to get him right! Also beard or no beard makes a huge difference.

[GG] English Cover Sketches?
Kickstarting the English book versions G&G is taking shape in my head lately. Here are some first cover ideas. I'm not too sure about them - I really like the legs, but they seem more like novel covers and are maybe too flat in terms of color/shading?
First one is Piet, second Tim.
Faces would be good, but the right idea still has to strike me ....

[LIMITED] Pillow Cases

[White Noise] Cover Sketches
Which one of A/B/C do you like best?
The rest are discarded sketches. I liked the one with Henrys profile, but didn't know how to color it.
I think big planes work best because they create this wide feeling of air and sky and freedom but also hint at (rapidly) moving clouds.

Seriously though, Henry/ Sven was supposed to only last a few weeks until Henry went back home. But they're working too damn well. This wasn't planned.
Sven is also a dad, but of two girls.

Sorry, I have to share a bit of the pages I did this week. Some panels are cropped out to leave something to look forward to.
The pages are in no particular order.
Henry and Sven basically consist of their jawlines, it's quite funny that they define them so much. Young characters often don't need jawlines.

[GG | Spin-Off] White Noise
Working title is "White Noise" since the ocean and inner turmoil reminds me of it.
The first 4 were already posted on social media (Nr. 2 is an alternate version of Nr. 1).
For the actual comic, I want to use that look: black, white and one shade of grey. Loose lines. It will be a challenge!

So I started working on this.
Some of you might have read of my struggle with writing G&G. I'm taking a break from it now and decided to dive straight into a new project since I wanted to do that anyway. No worries - G&G will be continued :)
Henry+Sven seems perfect. At least drawing the first round of concept sketches is freeing and feels promising.
The last picture is a moodboard I did on Pinterest to get into it.
