We're back with the final story of the 3 part arc. This page mainly functions as a refresher as Sal was MIA for the majority of the story last time. Not much else to say in this part outside of Finch having to fix her hair as we get the story back in motion. 

Also, excuse the background work. I'm doing a lot of learning on the fly, so I promise things will progressively improve.

This page adds Xatra to the periphery of the battle. The ultimate goal is at the end of the story, all the Sal Gals will be there. Xatra saying that she doesn't have giant energy spheres on her planet is yet another Homestar Runner reference, to a character named "Rumble Red" from the SBEmail "4 branches".

There are two main jokes in here.

Justin works in a grocery store and Pulchri's dialogue in panel 1 is a direct reference to his "favorite" customers who come in right before closing to waste the employee's time as they just want to get home.

Spella is Canadian, which can be hard to portray in a non-stereotypical way, so we have chosen to portray it in a stereotypical way through her accent and constant apologizing. You'll see lots of "sore-y" "aboat" and "eh" from her.

This is a little "bridge" story I wrote so we have something for other characters who aren't players in Ravenous Rebrand, and also to bring all the main cast together near where the big fight is taking place, even if they aren't participating. I've always liked Spella and this is the perfect time to do something with her, I figured pairing her with Loa in a friendly sort of relationship due to their shared magical backgrounds would be interesting, and it is!

A lot of stuff intentionally being left on the table with this but I think it'll turn out for the best once the final part goes into full swing. Comics are a mess.

The fight begins between Admiral Awesome and Midnight Reign. However, it seems like the Admiral is a bit more perceptive of Midnight's tricks. Is there a reason for that? Who knows. The real battle begins. I had a bunch of ways for AA to enter the fight, but I didn't know which one I wanted to go with up until about a week ago. There's a few story things left I want to hit before this part reaches the end and I hope this hasn't been a boring ride so far. I don't really have a ton of insights on this particular page, though. It's pretty much what showing its hand (or foot).

Anyway, things are looking dire for the core right now. MR seems to be having a field day taking out the heroes left and right. I'm a big fan of lead up paneling. Just where there's not a lot of stuff happening and it has the feeling of animation with subtle changes. I don't know where I exactly picked that sort of thing up from, but I just think it's a fun way to convey things. Anyway, there's not really a ton to say of what isn't already happening on the page. MR's attempt at persuasion didn't work. Now, what exactly does that mean moving forward? We'll see very soon. This had a lead up to a slightly different outcome, but in order to dispel assumptions that have been floating around, there's been some changes made so that people can be sure to know one thing: Finch may be smart and highly capable, but she's just a girl with a metal stick. She isn't invincible.

"Talking page. This page took a while, but I wanted to figure out how I wanted to properly approach this. I had an idea for how I wanted this to go at first, but I wasn't happy with that draft. I think I'm generally happier with how this rolled out in the end. Reason being is this is the last few hurdle pages before we get close to the end point of part two. Also, for those unaware, the reason MR knows Finch's name is because she's been keeping tabs on both her and Carmen for a while now. See...

Oh boy, this page is late! This is the point of the comic that went through a lot of mental revision. Finch was always meant to be the final confrontation of the story, but the way that things were originally going to play out have been altered due to a change in how the Gamma fight took place. Ultimately, I think the right decision was made for how all of this is going to play out and I'm very interested to see what the feedback for this story will be when everything comes to a close.
