This script originally had Emma-as-Carmen visibly crying but I changed it because I think Emma would be used to that sort of treatment by her parents by now. I still wanted to show that she's sad about it, hence the visibly not showing her face. Luckily, Carmen's body has those beautiful flowing locks to make that happen.

This page gives the reader a good look into Emma's family situation. Her older sister Wendy is always being held over her as the "better" sister. Mel was consulted heavily for this page due to her expertise having Asian parents, which gave me a lot of insight so I could write the parents more realistically.

This page was pretty heavily compressed in the original script, so Justin decompressed it to better let it breathe. This also marks the debut of Emma's parents, and did you know she's Korean-American? I wouldn't expect you to because you can't see her eyes and her name is very Americanized!

This page changed a LOT from the script to the page, mainly due to the changes we made to previous pages and the added pages with Spella, etc. The way it ends is pretty much the same, with Emma's parents calling. Now, Carmen has to field the call as "Emma" which could be awkward.
