Dip in the snowy river

Today I went on a little swimming adventure with a friend who lives in the mountains. We were hoping to find some snow and we did!

I had my neoprene socks on. Thank goodness for that πŸ˜… I went in 3 times, and really enjoyed it. Some loud shouting included, very cleansing too. Then I was yawning the whole way back, definitely a sign of my nervous system having been reset. Deeply relaxed πŸ™πŸΎ

Last few days without neoprene socks

Hey!
Temperatures are really dropping these days and snow has arrived in the mountains. Today it took me quite a while to warm up my feet which means that I will be getting my neoprene socks ready for my future dips! Deliciously refreshing!

How are your swims going? πŸ’™

After work refreshment

Today I didn't have time for a dip in the morning so I went in as soon as I came back from a job nearby.

Sun was delicious (at least to see, its touch was very gentle down by the river).

Water definitely getting colder, it took ages for my feet to warm up. I'm noticing I'm reluctant to wear neoprene socks, even though then I love it because I can stay in the water for longer.

I went in three times, so deliciously fresh and cleansing πŸ™πŸ½πŸ’™

Melted snow temperatures

Well, temperatures are definitely dropping. Air temp this morning maybe 7 degrees. Water temp close to the point of considering bringing my neoprene socks next time

It has snowed in the mountains and you can tell in the river! I'm planning to go and have a dip in a river surrounded by snow this weekend; hopefully snow won't melt!

Water is clearing out after the sediment that was stirred up a few days ago.

Keeps rising

Loved this dip in my safe spot while seeing the strong current and under a very atmospheric winter light

A lot of rain overnight

The level of the river rose maybe about 1 meter overnight! I dipped in my special 1m2 of safety πŸ˜…

Grounded

Are you normally barefoot? What are your experiences of being barefoot in nature?

We could be talking about the benefits of grounding (through being barefoot in nature) for ages, but I'm more interested in your experiences!

My most recent one is from this week. I normally spend some time barefoot in nature every day, apart from the recent week when I was poorly and I didn't.

Well, towards the end of that time I was feeling really charged, and I felt it when I went for a ...

Twice in a day

Today I went twice to the river, briefly each time. As if my body-mind-soul needed to catch up after all those days without being able to do it. I also felt very playful and silly - always a good sign and necessary!
Air temperature is very mild, and the light was lovely. Blessed πŸ™

I'm finally back πŸ™πŸ½

Its been a tough one! Last night something shifted and I felt that that was it; back to myself, and fit enough to go to the river today. It was so good, after over a week without my river! Pure joy πŸ™πŸ½πŸ’ƒπŸΎ Bringing the strength of Frida Kahlo with me too!

Which one is the most joyful?

Still not fit for a dip

I haven't been able to go for a dip in a week; still recovering! Going to Madrid really stretched my system. Hopefully in the next few days 🀞🏾 I miss it! I hope you're keeping healthy!

Testing the waters

I still feel very run down. My nose dances between blocked and runny. Headache. Tiredness. Low in energy and life force...

Temperature contrasts are tricky. Right now it's 20 degrees outside (absolutely crazy), and my house is quite cold so I have all the windows open as heating method. I move between spaces like a ghost. Putting on layers, getting rid of them, or getting naked to go for an in and out dip. I can't stay still for long. As if this strong southern wind was moving me like ...

Medicinal water

Despite recovering from this little cold, I decided to go for a dip. No head this time. I bet it will be good to boost my immune system at this time πŸ™πŸ½

May you have a lovely weekend

Quiet

Quiet time in the river before the rain. Juicy sunshine. Not feeling 100%, but I needed some cold water. The dilemma of choosing which one of the body's needs: to keep cosy and warm or to go for a cold water dip. Today was cold water, let's see tomorrow

Back to rural life

I'm back in my river after having spent a few days in Madrid. Crazy contrasts here, and between here and there. Still landing after so much input! Landing on water is always good:)

Saturday morning 🌞

Delightful start of the weekend with a cold dip in my beloved river πŸ™πŸ½ Every day my hands are finding it more difficult to stay in the water, temperature is definitely dropping. Really energising dips under a very mellow light

Bike ride

Today I gave myself permission to go for a bike ride in one of my favourite areas.

They's a beautiful path along the river, in a gorge, and the day was just divine. The colours of the leaves, only a few other fellow cyclists, sunshine... I really wanted to make the most out of the day and season. I had a dip when I started my way back, which was really cold and delicious!

Dragon's breath

Water temperature has dropped quite a bit! This year I'll get a thermometer to get to know the temperatures. I've been very reluctant as if that would spoil the mystery, but I'm also getting quite curious!!!

Glorious light these days, and I can see my breath in the morning!

Polarities

A couple of dips today to cool down.

Air temp was over 20 degrees Celsius (in November! Crazy!) and it will be like this for at least a week. And at the same time on the Mediterranean coast they're suffering from incredible storms, floods... A huge disaster.

Polarities that bring so many emotions. The art is to be able to hold all of them; the risk is to feel numb...

Enchanted pool

I love this place, it's not far from my house but somehow I haven't been here for many many months, maybe a year. Today I cycled there and enjoyed this November sunshine on the skin. And look at the water! So pristine! Blissed out πŸ’™

Muddy

I woke up with some headache and I knew that doing gardening was going to be the antidote (and playing with my cats!). It was heavy work (unrooting all the pumpkin and tomato plants) and it was exactly what I needed; to get my feet and hands on the soil, and do some why exercise followed by a cold dip!

Summer weather

Summer weather after a day of very cold winter. Autumn is like this, and climate change only seems to increase this differences more and more. It's strange that this week we will be celebrating the beginning of winter in the Celtic calendar.
I'm going through some inner process and I'm realising that I'm feeling somehow more vulnerable and more shy to expose myself. My inner critic can be quite persistent. Today I took some courage to take and share these pictures. It's all part of the pr...

Abundance

My heart is full. I adopted two rescue cats on Friday and they have opened such a portal of love. Abundance of love between the more than human and human world with them and the veggies that keep gifting me throughout the season. Abundance of nourishment for body and soul to go into the darker months, and entering winter in a few days at Samhain πŸ™πŸ½β€οΈ

Harvesting light

Tomorrow clocks change, we're artificially forced to move into darker evenings. I enjoy the gradual, natural way of having fewer hours of light in the darker months; however this human made change always comes as a surprise.

Today it was supposed to rain and be cloudy. So far, there's a delicious light that invites to appreciate light and vibrancy, and integrate it in us so it's always there when we need to access it.

Playful Tuesday dip

My Tuesdays are really packed, but I always make sure that I can go for a dip. To keep me not just awake, but alive, and playful, a d restored, and ready to crack on with what comes next. A way of being more attuned to the outside world. Today a lovely robin was sitting on a beach nearby when I was in the river, so cute. I love them. I could change my name to Robin. But I like my name.

New paradise

Oh my goodness... A friend recommended me this beach over a year ago and today was the day I went there for the first time. Completely unexpected paradise. I arrived there early and had the place for myself for quite some time. Sea was rough but I managed to dip many times in the rock pools that were being created with the tide. I laughed so much, of awe and beauty and gratitude.

I also met the guardians of the beach, and we had a great talk. They really love that place and are the s...
