IMATS Timelapse

Realtime Body Painting almost 4 hours!

So this special vid was offered last week to ticket holders at the Virtual Makeup Artists Trade show. They asked me to film and present my body paint process in 4 hours. It was kind of a huge undertaking trying to figure out how to do a high quality video in a small enough size to upload without having to edit.

But I pulled it off. Unfortunately, I didn't realize I forgot to hit record in the first 30 mins, so most of the base coat is already done.

Reilly the Diamond

I'm really happy with how this body painting came together. I painted a diamond a little over 10 years ago and thought about it the other day. I imagined a way to do it much more efficiently. Took a stab at it, and it worked out just as expected.

10 Minute Body Painting

Had a very limited time this week, so I tried something I've wanted to do for a while. I spent only ten minutes painting before the photoshoot. I wanted to go for something a little like a sketch using a thick brush on the form. I decided to go with black light paint as well.

I love that Shadia is always willing to let. me explore ideas.

Behind the Scenes Diver

This was from a couple years ago. I painted Shadia combining a variety of lighting and UV reactive makeup too. I made the headpiece, and had Shadia just do her thing. The gal knows how to move.

The headpiece is made out of EVA Foam. Looks heavy, but it's actually very very light.

Finally painting Shadia again after almost a year!

This gal, one of my all time favorite models, has been playing it very safe with social distancing because of her immune deficiencies. So, it's been almost a year since I last painted her.

And boy, what a joy! The gal knows what she's doing! It takes working with someone like her to remember what I love so much about body painting. She is a true artist, and she definitely takes the artwork I add to the next level. It really is magic to watch as I take pictures.

Funny Behind the Scenes with Sawyer

This was shot two weeks after my motorcycle accident back in August 2020. You can watch me try and paint with my left hand because I have a broken right collar bone. Not an easy task especially since the Sawyer can't keep still. But it actually inspired a cool idea for the future.

I felt like doodling on Courtney Kocak this time. I wanted to paint stuff on her without a heavy plan. I was going for more Flow and less Perfection, trying to kill the precision I usually aim for, and instead apply really loose brush strokes. Painting Tauj with One Color

I had to ride my motorcycle to my photo shoot with Tauj. So I couldn't take my airbrush compressor. I decided to limit myself to using only one color, white, and just a paintbrush.
