Bless my husband for putting up with me on this cruise. HAHA! I didn't have a professional camera so we did the best we could with my cell phone. It honestly feels more candid to me. My husband getting ALL the angles he could and being concerned about lighting and posing was just super super cute. As you can see by the second one he got me laughing pretty good.

Lighting those little floating candles is such a pain in the ass. Some of them kept going out and we had to relight and re-shoot. We were incredibly determined to keep them lit.

I used fake blood for the bathtub. We had to mix it with water because I didn't end up having enough. Who would of thought that buying gallons of fake blood could be SO damn expensive?!?!?!

Are you Afraid Of The Dark?

So, when I was a kid, I absolutely had a night light. I'm not sure what drove me to be so afraid of the dark. (Maybe it's just what happens to little kids) I grew out of it by the time I was pre-teen. I do remember having some pretty intense night terrors though as a child so that could also be why. Our brains I swear, come up with some of the scariest shit when we sleep.

The images I'm about to share with you are fairly old. I want to say almost 8 years old? My headspace and life were not in a good place as I had just gotten out of an abusive 10 year relationship. This photoshoot was to represent the pain, the suffocation I had felt while in it. I'm not sure if you can see it on my face but I was exhausted.

I most certainly stepped out of my comfort zone with this. I think it's a good way to stretch the brain and see what you can accomplish. Pretty happy with myself. It helps that I have good friends as photographers who hype you up and want to help you succeed. They want to see the vision come to life!
