ACT3CH17 - Duel

After ending his first attempt at teaching students about the nature of magic, it was finally time for the practical portion that he had talked about in the very beginning. Harry raised his wand, and gave it a small flick, and like an invisible curtain that had just dropped, the entire room shimmered, revealing twenty duelling courts, each of them barely more than fifteen feet in length. The class looked at him in surprise and awe.

He smirked. Maintaining an illusion for that long was d...

Massive Changes in Chapter 16

We added over 2500 words of new content to Chapter 16, and shifted some of Chap 16's content to Chap 17, to make the entire thing more cohesive and enjoyable to read. One might think that it is unnecessary to keep editing, but we settle for nothing but the absolute best quality of writing.

The BlackStaff And NightMarE are known for that.

So, we're reposting the current Chapter 16, followed by Chapter 17. Please read them accordingly. We are absolutely sure you will enjoy it a heck...

ACT3CH16 - First Impressions

This was by far, one of the weirdest feelings in his entire existence, decided Harry as he looked at himself in the mirror. He was looking at the jet black professor robes, not very much different from his usual uniform except the utter lack of House stripes. His hair still looked just as unruly as it always did, though Fleur preferred to call it his ‘after-shagged’ hairstyle, not something he could really boast in front of students, half of whom were going to be older than him. Nothing i...

ACT3CH15 - Reasons

“Honestly, Potter,” claimed Lee Jordan. “You’re such a disappointment.”

“Agreed,” said Fred, sneering. “Really not expected of you.”

“Where did we go wrong?” mourned George, palming his face.

“Dumbledore did say it was because of the curse,” said Hermione. “So it’s an interim position.”

“Yeah,” said Ginny, her tone as wet as the Sahara. “Incredible are the effects of age on a man’s judgement.”

Harry rolled his eyes, and a...

ACT3CH14 - Professor Harry Potter

Hermione Granger sat on the Gryffindor table, silently eating her dinner. It was apparently an important event as Dumbledore had requested everyone’s presence at the Great Hall. All four houses were in full attendance, as were the staff. Even Professor Trelawney, who only joined the High table on rare occasions, and Professor Burbage, who usually preferred eating in her office, were present, sitting next to Professor Grubbly-Plank. Hermione noticed that Newton Scamander, the revered magizoo...

ACT3CH13 - A Most Diabolical Curse

“What do you think this is about?”

Harry gave Fleur a half-shrug, as they approached the stone gargoyle. He had received a sudden missive from Dumbledore to visit him in his office. That wasn’t surprising, given the number of missives he had gotten from the Headmaster over the years, a number that had drastically risen ever since the start of term. What really surprised him however, was the request to bring Fleur with him.

“Dumbledore’s mind works in weird and byzantine ...

Update Schedule

Apologies for the delay. Took some time to get some stuff sorted out. Anyway, you will still get the promised six updates for the month. We were planning to release this yesterday to be honest, but it took a little longer to get it all done.

Update Schedule for this month - 6th. 10th. 15th. 20th. 25th. 30th. I'll stick to this schedule for future months too, only make it 5th instead of 6th. Feels... neater.

That's all folks!

ACT3CH12 - Broken Mirror

“Bloody buggering hell!” Daphne groaned, bent on all fours, her entire body shaking. She shivered, took deep breaths, and let her head hang down limp between her shoulders. “Fucking hell! That hurt, Harry!”

“Sorry….” Harry began.

“Don’t apologise, ‘Arry,” said Delacour, the sadistic bitch that she was. “What else can you expect from a leetle girl?”

Daphne glared at her, and turned to her fiance. “She’s right. It’s not — Ughh! It’s...

Update on Chapter 9

As commented upon by multiple readers here, Chapter 9 had some glaring OOC moments for Harry Potter as well as reactions from Sirius/Daphne/Fleur/Others that did not fit the theme of the last several chapters. So we went ahead and heavily edited it to make it more cohesive.

Please check it out.

ACT3CH11 - Inner Demons

“This is so exhausting!” muttered Daphne, as she pored through the pages of Moste Potente Potions, making notes on for her potions essay. Harry had missed the last potions class, and somewhere in her worry for her fiance and the hundred and eleven things zooming in her head, she had buggered up her invigorating potion. She was lucky that Professor Snape had only punished her with a thirteen inches on the properties of moonstone and their role in invigorating draughts, to be due next class...

“Ever since that night at the cemetery, I’ve been having… dreams. I’m… I’m not sure if I can call them dreams, because they’re too lucid. In them, I’m in a cold place, like an icy mountain. I think. And I meet Ignotus.”

“Who iz this man?” Fleur asked.

“Ignotus Peverell,” said Harry. “Grandfather of Iolanthe Peverell. She married Hardwin Potter, and is my family’s connection to the Peverell legacy. He’s the previous Peverell Vessel, and the entity yo...

ACT3CH9 - Choices

It’s all a blur. Unreal. He crouches down, looking at the murky, silvery waters, seeing his reflection in them. But it isn’t him that is looking back — its eyes are black, like gaping black holes, an unwavering emptiness that would swallow him if he lets it. The hand comes out, grips him and pulls him into the pool.

Pool? Underwater? Ocean? He cannot tell.

These waters. The Unconscious. The Anima. They are as much a part of him as he is part of them. Th...

ACT3CH8 - There In The Darkness Part 3

Albus Dumbledore didn’t believe in God. Most wizards didn’t. After all, magic was akin to a force that behaved in certain ways. Like a mechanic, or an engineer, you could make them work for you if you knew how, without needing a god or a goddess or whatever to get involved. But more important than that, it was the fact that Faith was all about letting go and trusting someone else.

And wizards, by nature, weren’t terribly predisposed to surrendering control, not when you had that m...

The world is grayscale. Except for the prey.

They are bathed in red. Fear, coldness, anticipation, resentment, horror — he recognizes a plethora of emotions. How? It doesn’t matter. All it matters is that these strange creatures with bony limbs and tattered shadowy cloaks that surround him. It reminds him of something… no, of someone, seeing someone on the other bank of shiny waters — a brilliant white light, antlers.

But who?

ACT3CH6 - There In The Darkness

Crap. This place is a mess.

Ignotus had told him how Death had ravaged this place. It explained the rotten structures, the desolate buildings and the blackened Hogwarts. It didn’t at all explain why the forbidden forest had grown to at least twice its size, and sprawled all the way into the Hogwarts grounds and the Quidditch pitch. If Death had killed every single thing in here, surely plants were no exception.

Death-affected or not, it was terribly eerie, walking throu...

ACT3CH5 - In Anima

A cold and rusty wind stirred momentarily as Harry appeared with a pop. His gaze wandered over his new surroundings and his face betrayed a flicker of distaste and disappointment. After all the metaphorical description McGonagall had pounded him with, he had expected something bright and rich and surreal. After all, this was the world of spirits.

Instead what he found was a soggy mess.

A burst, desolate, decrepit, soggy mess.

Shattered ruins marred the hillside, looking utte...

ACT3CH4 - Animagery

By the time Harry walked into McGonagall’s office, it was close to sunset. He had been surprised when the professor had asked him to drop in at an exact time, but the woman hadn’t explained why, just telling him that they were going to make a significant jump in his journey into self-transfiguration. She had looked practically giddy, if he might say so. McGonagall had always been the sanest and most composed of the teaching staff, so he imagined there was a method to her madness.

ACT3CH3 - The Expedition Part 2

Harry took a momentary pause. Taking on powerful wizards was one thing. Taking on ones who had done their homework and who knew who you were and exactly what you have done was something else entirely. Rattled, a hundred questions flashed through his head right that moment, yet his mouth didn’t move, his mind rushing into overdrive as he considered all potential outcomes of this one event. Nicholas Flamel was Albus Dumbledore’s friend, and if he let the old man know about him holding the w...

A group of curse-breakers, school governors and staff, and visiting delegates walked into a girl’s lavatory. It sounded like the beginning of a joke, but Harry Potter was not amused.

Possibly because the joke was on him.

Years of being in public scrutiny allowed him to ignore the looks he was getting. He was certain that several people in the group would be putting h...

Honestly, even she was surprised at how easy it had been. After the way that damned lying, attention-seeking brat had taken her own words and made an open mockery in fron...

And the worst part? She couldn’t even blame anyone for it.
