Racing Lagoon (PS1)

The Racing Lagoon video is finally done! I've been tracking my hours on these projects for a while now, and this one easily smashed the record, taking over 200 hours to make.

I loved this game, though. As I was playing I wished that it had come out in English when I was a kid. I actually finished it and immediately started a 2nd playthrough just because I really wanted to play it again. Not only because I was making a video on it. I can't remember the last time I did that. Maybe Sekiro?...

Echo Night 2 (PS1)

Echo Night 2 was 2nd place in the most recent Dungeon Dweller poll. I covered the first game almost exactly a year ago, so it was about time to finally get around to it. I had played the first and third game in this series before, but I'd never played this one. I feel like it's kind of the growing pains in between the wackiness of Echo Night 1 and where FromSoft would take the series with Echo Night: Beyond. Overall, Echo Night 2 is a good but bloated experience.

Koudelka (PS1)

I told you it was going to be a fast turnaround. I shelved Vangers for now. It was just too much. I'll come back to it someday. I want to finish it. But I've played Koudelka before, so it didn't take long to record a playthrough, but it had been a while. I forgot how good this game's story is. It was such a treat to go through it again. I also dug up a bunch of interesting stuff about Shadow Hearts development that I'll have to save for when I eventually do that video.

Ok, made it. If you read my last post, you know Ripper took a bit more time because of some technical difficulties. Game kept crashing on me. I managed to get a playthrough recorded though, and here we are.

May Update

Hope everyone is doing alright. Just wanted to give an update on the next video on Ripper. I ran into a lot of technical difficulties unfortunately. I downloaded it from The Collection Chamber website, which has always been pretty solid for me, but Ripper just kept crashing. Luckily, the game is pretty open-ended, so I did manage to complete a playthrough and record it, but it took a good while to find paths that wouldn't crash the game.

Haunting Ground (PS2)

The cloud of the YouTube age-restriction drama has passed, and the Haunting Ground video is finished! Though this video might be testing that limit again. Who knows? The algorithm works in mysterious ways.

Baroque (SAT)

Man, Baroque is so cool. To be 100% honest, though, I didn't really like it when I started playing. My first 2 hours or so were kind of torturous, and I briefly considered letting you all know that I couldn't do it and I was a failure. But then the game sank its fangs into me, and I was converted. Going through that also helped me come up with the format I used for this video, the "Cycles of Pain," so it was all meant to be. It's fun having your opinion flip on a game.

Gadget was actually part of the first poll that I put out at the end of last year, and it's the only game that I hadn't gotten around to making a video on yet, so here it is. There's a lot of cool extras and stuff for this game, so if you're at all interested, be sure to check the link in the description for the download. The wait is over. The Deep Fear video is done. Even without the delay of a few days for extra outside work, this was quite the undertaking. I recently started tracking my hours while working on these videos, and this one took about 70 hours from capturing footage to uploading to YouTube. It was worth every minute.

DreamWeb (PC)

DreamWeb is a British game developed by Creative Reality for DOS and Amiga platforms that fell into almost immediate obscurity. Luckily in 2012, the devs made the game freeware and now anyone can play it on ScummVM. I've got a link for where to download it in the video description.

Dead of the Brain (Slightly Less Censored Version)

I had to submit a few cuts of this video to get it past the pearl-clutching YouTube ad-suitability censors. That stuff doesn't affect all of you if you're watching before this goes public, because I don't turn on ads until then. But still, it made this video take longer to finish than expected. Apparently you can't even say the words "porn" or "erotic" in a video or YouTube will just faint with the vapors.

Happy new year! I had planned to have a video out this week, but I came down with covid before New Years so I've been totally out of commission for the past 5 days. Happy 2024 to me, right? Shadow Of Memories Review

You voted for it, and here it is. Shadow of Memories reminded me a lot of Lunacy for Saturn. It had a goofy story, incredibly stilted dialogue, and a main character who was just dumb as a doornail. All good things, by the way.

I really went in depth on the game's story and the multiple endings. Despite the weirdness, there's quite a bit of interesting things that happen related to the time travelling shenanigans. Hope you enjoy it.

Are You Afraid of the Dark? The Tale of Orpheo's Curse Review

The game that nobody guessed. Yes, there is an adventure game based on Are You Afraid of the Dark? And you know what? It was actually pretty good. Color me surprised. I found this game from rooting around The Collection Chamber website back in the summer. Around the same time I found Cosmology of Kyoto, and I knew I had to save this for Halloween.

It was also fun rewatching a bunch of AYAD? episodes to make this video. What a great show. Anyway, I hope you all enjoy this one.
