Finished another sketch with Xera from yesterday, now in watercolor/gouache.

This paper isn't the best for the coloring pencils, but it was interesting to experiment with~

Confusion

Fact confirmed, it's really hard to erase some, if not all, colored pencils. 

Also another fact is confirmed: Eiden and Xera are a couple, even if the first one didn't realizes it just yet.

Thought I'd shape some sketches for the upcoming piece, - I'm thinking about building upon 3rd sketch with some of the elements from 2, and to have some context behind - it's Nix who have stumbled upon a fallen purifying pillar on Reagkhay, which was hollowed out by local fauna, and who made a nest out of it.

Plants of Reagkhay

A few more of gouache sketches, yet now with some of the Reagkhay's plants. 

While you have seen kheelah multiply times (it grows like weed on everything), nierkhaladhor and zerkhalar were seen just as concepts quite a while ago, and khordah's design has been inspired by other plant species from Vasmara - Gastars' home planet. And I just now realised, that I haven't posted anything from Vasmara, except for gastars themselves, oops.

Purifying pillars

Gouache sketches of the pillars - tried out a few new color combinations.

Landscape generation: idea

Had an idea what if to make guidelines for Reahkhay's landscapes? Not just for the pillars, but for the plants, structures and terrain itself, somewhat akin to assets in videogames for a random generation of the world with short notes to what grows and goes where and their purposes, - this way it will be much easier picking stuff for the illustrations, and will give you an opportunity to create your own illustration of the Ancients' world, if you'd wish so~ ^w^

So! I've laid my hands upon trial version of clip studio and figured out two things: first, and foremost, I love the interface here, and the second - my actual issue with lags might be connected directly to hardware itself, which is kind of odd as my PC is only 3 years old, and games are running pretty smoothly here, but for some reason, larger size of canvas and brushes have visible delays (just to add, that this sketch's resolution is 1600x1200 72dpi, and I still had experienced lags when u...

Finished the sketch with Zane, and looks I'll be looking for an alternative to my old photoshop if I want to do any more paintings or complex pieces, as the works started taking up to 5 minutes to save, and barely a few layers (around 10-20) are causing unbearable lags (while in the past it could manage +-70 layers, I have no idea what had happened to it, my guess that the reason are the new window's updates)
