September 2022 Drawing Poll #2

Ok so let’s get into the Halloween Spirit. Last year I did a couple of loose Halloween themed hair related pieces surrounding my characters, but this year I want to do a sort of short anthology series detailing what each member was up to on Halloween night, all themed around a hair scenario of course. So basically the idea that wins this poll will be continued next month with more comic pages or an animation.

Diana's Side Shave - Lineart Animation

I tweaked the speed and looped some of the last frames to make it feel like she was actually rubbing her head. I'll finish the coloring on Monday and get it posted, but look out for the next drawing poll to be posted later today.

Diana's Side Shave - Test Animation (with files for your use)

I managed to get it to around 25 layers with another 5 for looping the GIF. I think this is reasonable. Timing is a little fast but slowing it down felt weird as this is a mesh of 3 shots instead of 1 continuous shot. I'll get the lineart done tomorrow.

September 2022 Posting Schedule

Hello everyone! We’re rounding the corner into Autumnn season here in North America and I for one am ready for cooler weather (please God, any day now would be great). So I’m actually going on vacation for this first weekend of the month so no art this weekend, but I’m gonna make it up with 3 polled drawings and the next part in the Buzzed and Beautiful series. August 2022 Diana's Haircut Animation

These animations are a lot of fun to do. I will definitely be doing more from now on, though the intensity of workload for each will have to be planned ahead. Longer frames ones are fine but only if they don't move too much. The Hairflip one took about twice as long as I had expected to make. I'll probably set a frame limit of 20 frames or so to keep it manageable.

August 2022 Polled Hairflip Animation

Oh boy the coloring took longer than expected, but I'm happy with the end result. Animating is a lot of fun in th end but dear god do I need to learn so methods for streamlining my workflow. Photoshop was not really built for animation but it's the program I know the best. But yes, I will be doing more animation in the future, complete with the base 3D layers if anyone wants to use them for their own work. Hair Flip Test Animation (with files for your use)

a little behind the scenes glimpse into my process. I use 3D poses from Clip Studio to save time, and animate over that in photoshop. It's mostly to get the layers laid out and test speeds. I might adjust the layers around the blown kiss part later on, add in a wink, but this is fine for now.

Sorry for the delay. The extra combat stuff took longer than expected to color. I like the end result though. I'll see about doing more action oriented stuff in the future. Maybe a WWE style wrestling match ending in a haircut, or the like.
