It's a box for cards, and it has skulls on it! But what actually inspired this design was wondering if I could make a hinged-lidded box with lots of detail on the lid, which of course meant that the lid couldn't be slapped outside-down on the print bed as is the usual approach.

Remember those Fragment Coasters from a little while back? They were fun, but just lacking a little...resolution. Which is why there's now this dotty pixel version that has far more segments than those other designs!
There was a version of this that used a grid of squares (because we already had hexagons, even if they were a little larger) but the upper frame is only thin, and the spindly borders between the tiny squares did not have a lot of rigidity....

Someone recently asked me if I was going to make a case for the new Raspberry Pi 5 single-board computer. I didn't even know there was one! Fortunately, my local electronics supplier had just got stock, and so I got designing!

I really liked the Dial Box from a little while ago, with its twist-lock magnetic closure, but I really wanted to see if the idea could be scaled down to a much smaller size for holding much smaller things. And somehow I made a much larger one, too!

Well, this was a complicated one! It's a snap closure box that uses magnets as a spring to keep the lid securely shut until released via a sliding switch!

The Popsicle Box opens from the bottom with a rotation of the handle, which is in turn engaged with a captive bolt that will open things up. The handle slots into the bolt via a hexagonal slot, and then a nut threads onto the top to keep the handle in place.

Vase mode printing, as we know, has a particular constraint in that angles just can't be too far from vertical, and that's in both the angling-up and angling-down directions. There just isn't enough overlap between lines past a certain point, and the results are a mess! I'm pretty conservative about those angles, and generally keep it to about 45 degrees.

My little cat is a fearsome creature! Okay, so maybe I just caught her mid-yawn :P
Vase mode is great, the robustness of vase mode prints suffers as things scale up (unless of course you can bring a nice big nozzle to bear on the situation). The tiny poison bottle is a quick print, but also a tiny print, and it can be useful to scale it up. But, yes, scale brings limitations, and so this regular mode version now exists.
