Butterscotch Cannon (Updated)

Update: Small improvements to make Texas more visible.

At last, I finish an animation the same day that I start it. It's been a long while since that's the case.

But this will be what happens if you hit a rock with Butterscotch in front of you. Instead of Nutmeg tripping and landing on Texas, she throws her, right into Butterscotch's backside.

This took me far too long to get done, but at least I was able to do some background work and some coding after finishing this today.

But yes, this is all three parts of Butterscotch's brake check move put together, i.e. what it will look like in game. Probably back to coding for a bit now, but I might work on another animation next Monday.

Update 14/08/20

Hey everyone!

Sorry for the week of no updates, but I've coded a basic concept version of how I want the level to play. It's buggy as hell, but now that I'm confident in what I want to do with it, and have a decent framework, it's time to get back to some asset generation!

Well there we go. Texas has a horse now, and her name is Nutmeg. This is also the first horse I have ever drawn, so she may get some retouching on Monday. Not entirely happy with her at the moment, but happy enough that she could make it into the game as is.

Texas in Trouble Demo 3 (Updated)

Updated the game files with some bug fixes and (very) small quality of life improvements.

VERY IMPORTANTLY, if you could play the pre-update level 3 demo, but are having trouble running this one, please let me know. I've changed to a different vertex buffer method, which may reduce lag and load times, but may also be less compatible with older GPUs (or integrated chipsets, for laptops). So I want to see how much of an issue that might be for people, and which method I want to use goin...

Update 08/07/20 + A Quick Note About Discord

Hey Everyone!

Progress on the game is just good, and level three is just about ready for release. I just need to fix the reported bugs, do some final bugtesting and re-balancing, and want to add Kaze's Jiggly in as a background cameo. If all goes well, we could well be looking at the public release being out as early as next week!

Jacks in Jail

Quickdraw's done, I'm nearly done with all the cutscenes, and now Jacks has her in-jail sprite! We're getting close to the next public release, but there's still a few fiddly little jobs that need to be done first, as well as the bugfixing from the last demo.

Still No Stream Tomorrow

I'm afraid the game over sequence has taken me longer than anticipated, so I'll have to use tomorrow's stream slot to work on it as well. I just need to do the game over screen at this point. I've finished the countdown part of the sequence, and I am very happy with it. It's something I've been wanting to do with Texas for a while, and I think it's come out rather nicely.

Jacks Quickdraw Suite

Back to work for me! And here's the fruit of that work. Jacks's quickdraw sprites all done: neutral, win and lose. Just need to do Texas's half of this, as well as the gameover screen, and I can start putting together the functional quickdraw minigame!
