If I’m right, and one of those items is something that can bridge the gap between a level zero and a level eight rock golem… Just how powerful is it?
Raine spun away from the golem to sprint back to the front of the witch’s lodge. He burned through his meager Discipline reserves, knowing every second could be the difference between failure and success.
He had assumed the first twenty levels were going to be a fairly boring grind as he slaughtered the mos...

Raine counted in his head while he waited for the two patrolling wolves to turn away from each other, creating a narrow gap. The moment they did, he leaned forward and dashed as quickly as possible, burning a point of Discipline with each step. For a few short seconds, he didn’t feel quite as slow and clunky.
When his Discipline bottomed out, his pace slowed to a crawl; each step felt like an eternity as the wolves reached the end of their patrol line and paused before turning back.&n...

Raine was breathing heavily by the time he reached the nearest gym. A few of the regulars gave him snide looks as he walked through the front doors. Ignoring them, he headed to the automated receptionist and let it scan his retina before accepting the monthly membership plan.
His first workout was brutal. Within minutes, he was puking in the nearest trash bin. He picked himself up after resting a few minutes and kept at it until he made it all the way through the six-hundred reps of his...

One of Raine’s eyes fluttered open, crusty goop sticking to his lashes as beaming sunlight pierced straight to his brain. He released a pained groan, reaching to rub at his aching temples with thick, pudgy fingers.
What the hell? Why is my hand swollen? Poison? No, if I was poisoned, my LinQ would have noticed the toxicity in my blood.
LinQ…
Raine thought in the particular way that would activate the microchip in his brain. When a moment passed with no ...

The year is 2493
The AI wars have come and gone.
At the minor cost of two centuries in industrial and technological advancements, humanity won, barely. Victory was only possible thanks to the hidden Martials revealing themselves and stepping onto the stage of history. Named old monsters by some—superhumans with impossible strength and speed, capable of dismantling entire armies of deadly robots with their bare hands. And thus began t...

Hello everyone!
After a month-long test run, I can confidently say that the new schedule is a massive improvement to my mental. I was more motivated than I've been in over half a year, and less stressed to boot. Despite being ridiculously ill for a week and a half, I managed to write one less chapter than a normal month and make significant progress on the editing for book 4.
I understand there are quite a few who prefer the weekly releases as it's so easy to forget whats h...

The sweeping arches and delicate curved towers of the Cathedral of Chords towered over Jiran. The only word that came to mind when taking in its splendor was: Gorgeous. He couldn't help but feel proud that the people of his empire had gone from caves, to structures of this magnitude and perfection. Especially considering the devastation caused by the Season of Shattering, which typically limited the scope of Imperial construction.
Well, our dear cardinal won't be enjoying his fancy ...

Mayalyn Aloyhee
Adrenaline shook Mayalyn's arms, as though the massive cathedral were still shuddering beneath her. The need to throw herself through the hole above was so strong, her chest ached at the denial of it. Jiran’s warnings of the suit's limitations, and fear she would melt a portion of it, stayed her hand.
Each metallic clunk of retreating footsteps deepened her frustration. When the auras around her vanished, she couldn't hold still another se...

Mathayes had been observing the two interlopers as well as he could since they entered his trap on the ground floor. Their stealth abilities were far beyond the norm, and that prompted him to interrupt his training to converse with them at all.
Another test from the Cardinal? Or perhaps something more sinister?
The lightest touch of aura followed them down the stairs and to his abode’s only door, a door which w...

Jiran’s thoughts raced to wrap around Markhiss’ revelation, “Why would Silence and the Voice work together? Emperors Palo and Loro have enough sway within the empire that even the other emperors don’t dare cross them. What do they stand to gain?”
Markhiss shook his head, using the movement to double check their surroundings, “This has nothing to do with power. For as long as there has been a Voice, there have been the Silent Listeners. What the church cannot accomplish openl...

“So, this is Sanctum Santorum, the final bastion between humanity and the undead. I've heard the stories, but they don't seem real. Gotta admit, I'm a bit excited to see for myself just how undead they really are.”
“Are they truly the dead come back to life? Great-grandfather had a story of such beasts. He called them zoombyes,” Mayalyn tilted her head, somehow appearing both cute and inquisitive despite her new suit hiding all her features. Jiran promised himself he would never...

The center of the Outlands had once seemed like a wasteland interspersed with occasional beasts. Mana Omnis revealed just how wrong that assumption was. The land was alive with life; innumerable creatures hid just beneath the cracked, hard ground, ready to pounce on any hapless passerby. Jiran experienced a combined tingle of gratitude and relief that he had learned to fly before crossing this deadly place the first time. For anyone who had to walk without the means to d...

Jiran’s helmet slid free with a satisfying hiss of displaced air. The Outland’s hot winds brushed against his skin. The feeling was so different from the last time he'd been in the area, he hardly recognized it. Attributes boosted the durability of his skin, and his aspect thrummed within his body and soul, cooling both to what he considered a comfortable level. The ambient density prickled against his skin, only to be automatically absorbed, hardly denting his unending appetite for mana....

Olive scowled, her brows furrowing as she stared down her hated foe. Her emotions were a conflicted mess. Layers of anxieties and fears mixed with anger, frustration, and impatience. The result was a mana bridge that was nearly impossible to control, let alone utilize to defeat the higher tiered wooden monstrosity barring her escape.
She wanted to scream and bang her fist against the stubborn door but such undignified and childish...

Due to life's relentless pursuit of my time and energy, I've decided to adjust the release schedule. There are some weeks that it's simply impossible for me to make the time-plus-optimal-focus required to create quality ...

An inferno of deadly elemental fire enveloped Jiran, but not before his aspect raced out to meet it. The two opposing forces clashed, releasing a mountain of steam that billowed outward to obscure the battlefield. The nearer tier nine threw his hands up defensively and jumped backward off his aura.
Armament supplied a steady flow of mana to Jiran's tap where it was converted to additional aspect, filling the space around him with blistering cold. Rather than contin...

By the time Jiran caught up to Mayalyn, she was howling with laughter, flipping end over end. Her legs flailed and flexed in jerky motions that sent her chaotically flying through the rainy air. Jiran blocked the distracting weather around her while she rapidly learned to control the new boosters built into her suit.

The clacking of approaching boots sounded from down the exterior hallway. They reverberated through the small room's only door; a klaxon alarm that made Olive more paranoid every time she heard them. She had just enough time to hop back to the center of the room and resume a meditative stance before the door swung open.
The cardinal's personal seneschal entered, his ensemble and regal air as immaculate as any nobles. Olive cut h...

Seeing only a few of the clan leaders present, Jiran's aura scanned the inner forest, not finding any other tier seven Forkara, “Where are the other elders?”
Dokkuun wore a conflicted expression, “It was voted, and agreed, that if an elder chose not to participate in your call to arms, they would send their two next of kin in their place. So far, none have violated that portion of the agreement.” Jiran prompted him to continue with a nod. After a short pause, the old Forkara spo...

Graymin Lands
A week passed at an agonizing pace without their small force finding a trace of the emperors. The remote bombardments from the church’s assassins, while consistently annoying, were largely ineffective. The battle for Morothin
A hundred Graymin Rooks released mana-charged projectiles in unison. Rings of pressure detonated around each rook, sending lesser pawns and knights hurtling away in pieces. The missiles tore through the air at a speed beyond their tiers, visually rippling the fabric of reality as they sought fresh victims amongst the few Imperials hovering above the horde.
Lenton raised one hand, a ...

Hello and welcome old and new Patrons. Thank you so much for your support!!

She's had feet issues for years, and it turns out our new state's insurance actually covers the problem that's been crippling her for so long! Torry slid across the floor, dragged bodily by Jiran’s aura. Mana Venom struck him in the chest, but unlike with !Dorik, he didn't immediately fall into convulsions. He shook his head, blinking and groaning, then seemed completely fine. His gaze wandered the room, as though looking for something important he'd misplaced.
The last Meersvant stared at Torry with tears streaming down his cheeks. He didn't say anything, simply waiting his turn with a tightly clenched...

Armament tracked the seeker’s mana as it raced away from them through the bowels of the ship. His aura struggled viciously to keep Jiran from intercepting the signal. Jiran's Manabody condensed, and with renewed potency, crashed against the seeker's, shoving it aside before tearing off the access panel. Armament flooded into the conduit, racing down a series of connecting tubes. When he caught the seeker’s mana, he didn’t waste time, utilizing

Jiran's Armament bucked and writhed, proving far more unwieldy once fully released than anticipated. His few tests throughout the night had been simple enough, and now he was regretting not pushing it to its maximum when he had the chance. Unfortunately, desperate times didn't allow him the convenience of holding back.
His Armament was stretched thin, each mote of mana comprising its mass refusing to directly touch their neighbors. He was still connected with every...

This is ridiculous. I’ve got to get my hands on more of these gems. I was going to leave this creepy ass place and never look back. There’s no way I can do that now. Unless I can figure out how to produce them on my own. Considering they use a skill, and grow them in their bodies, that might not be possible. Wait, the formations on that vehicle used the same phenomenon to push off the framework for propulsion!

Calm mana, calm… No way. it's just so ridiculous to think of mana needing to be calmed. Mana is a malleable energy, not a kid throwing a tantrum! Sure, Mayalyn's Great-grandfather concluded mana and density are sentient in one form or another, and therefore, likely capable of experiencing feelings. But none of my experiences have given me any inclination that it needs to be soothed.
Then again, their masterium is the only thing that's affecting Mana Venom. I shouldn't dis...

Mana Confluence affixed the Meersvant crystal into the palm of Jiran’s glove. He adjusted the formations running the length of his arm so they could feed mana to the crystal on command. After priming enough mana for several uses, he flew in the direction of the last two sets of wind-swept tracks, his attribute-enhanced memory having no issue remembering the way. He stopped three times to absorb the ambient density, then briefly activated Gaze of Pediamus
