Chapter 55 - Trust My Ass

Sleeping with his new, deeper connection to his manabody was a strange experience. A background portion of his brain was active and receiving information throughout the night. He watched every breath he took, fully aware of his chest rising and falling. His heartbeat was a dull throb that created a soothing cadence as the hours passed. The field of energy also gave him the same level of detail for everyone else sleeping in the inn. Yet somehow, his mind filtered all the information into a bac...

Celebrating 30 chapters ahead

Thank you to all the new Patrons! Your support is making my writing dreams a reality and I couldn't be more thrilled that you're enjoying my story. Seriously, thank you.

Now that we are 30 chapters ahead of RR and SB, I've dropped the first chapter of my side project (which gives me an occasion brain-break from Density God.)

I hope you enjoy it as it's extremely fun to write. So far I've only been poking at it one day a week as my free time is almost entirely dedicated to D.God.&n...

Chapter 54 - It Is Me And I Am It

Niya of Feylon

Niya pulled herself from the rubble of a collapsed building. She cracked her neck before wiping off the trickle of blood leaking from her split lip.

Life Touch,” after uttering the name of her custom technique, the cut on her lip vanished as if it had never been.

“Nice hit,” She smirked at the man who had just knocked her into the still-crumbling building.

He wore gray robes covered in intr...

Chapter 53 - The Fate Of Meraadom

Jiran stepped out of the portal and into darkness. He heard the tinkling of water and while sniffing the air, detected hints of musty dirt and rust.

Light Manipulation.

His palms burst into light that devoured the gloom. He waved his arms, revealing a vast, ancient cavern. Hand-carved steps zig-zagged through long-abandoned ruins. They led to dilapidated hovels built directly into the rocky walls and natural columns that supported the high ceilin...

Image poll

Thank you all so much for the continual support! It's amazing to see all the new names and wow is it motivating to know people like my story enough to come here for more.

Patreon doesn't have an option to hide images behind a spoiler so I've been using links as that was a good suggestion I received some time ago.

I personally think clicking the links takes away from the immersion but so does seeing them a few paragraphs early.

Since we have lots of new voters, I'll let...

Chapter 52 - Current Events

Before Jiran did any hunting, there was one more very important thing to resolve. With the huge increase in power from his freshly doubled Concentration, he needed to know just how strong his elemental attacks had become. With a layer of Coating on his hand, he created a flame with the smallest amount of mana he could control and his old dumbed-down mental image. A bonfire erupted from his fist, the flames billowing out to nearly triple the size of his body. He immediately cu...

Chapter 51 - Revelations Just Lead To More Questions

Jiran floated in darkness, safely cocooned in a comfortable warmth. He had no body, no mind, he simply was. Time passed smoothly without thought or external stimulation and as all things do eventually, a change occurred. A filament of golden light stretched out to him from the void. It connected to his awareness with a delicate touch.

Jiran followed the thread on instinct as something within him yearned to uncover its secrets. After following it for an unknown eternity, a pressure pushe...

Chapter 50 - I Am Not Alone

Jiran’s trip through the red sea lasted mere moments after he lost sight of Lenton. Another hole in reality opened and sucked him through to deposit him into an empty room with white paneled walls. They were perfectly smooth and appeared to be made of some kind of metal. Jiran was barely able to focus on his surroundings as the challenger density still raged within his body, bringing with it a plethora of changes.

The euphoric increase in growth lasted far longer than ever before, lea...

Chapter 49 - Awoken

Jiran's skin was on fire. He jolted awake with a gasp, his hands already moving to stamp out the burning flames on his arms and chest. He watched his limbs moving in slow-motion, his groggy brain slowly coming to the realization that he could see them moving despite his eyes still being closed.

Thank the Fathers. It was just a dream. Though my skin definitely itches like crazy from all this red density. What a weird way to sleep. I could feel everything inside my manabody even while...

Chapter 48 - The Cube

Jiran snatched three more of the delicious piletear fruits and retrieved the cube from his tent before finding a comfortable spot in the shadow of a large cactus. He started by cycling through memories of each part of his life that was important to him to gently reveal and then organize his emotions. With his preparations for several hours of intense mana manipulation complete, he nodded.

He warmed up by creating Shapings one at a time for each element. He swapped betwe...

Chapter 47 - Welcome To The J—Desert!

Jiran dreamed of flying through the sky over a forested valley that housed a strange civilization. They sang to him as he flew, waving their arms. Or were those branches? The fluttering of a question in his consciousness pulled him to the ground where soft dirt swallowed him. New sensations grabbed at his mind as his body demanded he wake.

Nope. Five more minutes. Ugh, why am I so hot? And my mouth is dry.

Sweat coated his body to the extent that even his bedroll was soak...

New story arc, new story art, new release schedule

We are switching to a different AI generator for the next story arc. All the characters will be reintroduced in their new styles. I love them so much and can't wait for everyone to see them!

My (very ambitious) goal of getting Emperor tier 30 chapters ahead this week will be only 2 away after today. I guess releasing 13 chapters in a single week was a little too much...

Anywho, after I reach that 30 ahead goal, I'll be dropping the release schedule down to a more reasonable five c...

Chapter 46 - Lies, Betrayals, And Truths 2

My foresight stopped warning me.

I’m safe here… he said I’m safe here!

“Did you really mean what you said?” Jiran directed his question up at Markhiss who hovered in the air as if he were standing on solid ground.

Markhiss held his sides as he burst into laughter. He took great heaving breaths attempting to calm his guffaws.

Scalp immediately stopped advancing on Jiran as his demented boss spoke.

“Me? You’re questioning my honesty?...

Jiran grinned at Clift as he dropped the Coating that covered his cheek.

“How many bandits and what tiers?” Jiran directed his question at the big blonde kid in the cage with the scar running down his face.

“He isn’t even bleeding?” Clift stood thunderstruck as he looked between his hand and Jiran’s face.

“Uh, what?” The big kid in the cage asked.

Oh c'mon, please tell me you’re not the big dumb type.

Chapter 44 - Just Can’t Keep A Good Slave Down

My mana is being stolen?! Again?! Did he punch me so hard that it reopened my injury?

Jiran ignored the man looming over him and concentrated on the flow of his mana. He breathed an audible sigh of relief when he realized his mana was steadily leaking from his skin and into the strange collar the man had clipped around his neck.

He raised his hands and touched the cold, smooth metal. A tingle ran through the tips of his fingers as more of his mana flowed into the collar a...

Chapter 42 - And I Will Run 500 Miles

Jiran’s right arm smacked into something hard, sending him spinning uncontrollably through the darkness. Air rushed across his skin as he picked up speed. The little light from the hole above occasionally flashed in the distance, growing smaller with each sighting.

He pulled on his mana and it sang through his veins as he snapped another full-body Coating into place. As the protective mana flowed out of his skin, he received a rush of information about the spear of wo...

Chirping birds and insect calls faded as Jiran awoke with a start. He reached up to hold his aching head but ended up smacking himself in the face as his arm responded faster than he anticipated.

Chapter 39 - Bring Out The Big Guns

Jiran awoke to the sounds of rhythmic thumping, grunts, and an occasional scream of outrage. He recognized the screams as Niya’s, and shot to his feet.

His foot tangled in his bedroll, nearly bringing him to his knees. With several awkward, hopping steps, he righted his balance and dashed out of his tent.

It only took him a few seconds to track down the duo and before he even arrived, his brain woke up enough to realize they were only sparring. Much to his relief, nothing nefari...

Content changes

I made 2 minor alterations to the story starting at Chapter 30 when Jiran first absorbed the challenger density.

First change

There is now a timer in Jiran's status that is counting down. He's not 100% sure what happens when it hits zero but he's pretty sure it means game over.

The timer started at 48 hours and refreshes back up to its maximum every time he absorbs more challenger density. Each kill also increases the maximum cap of the timer by 2 hours. After his escapades ...

Jiran held the ancient artifact lightly in his grasp with a thousand thoughts spinning behind his eyes. An effort of willpower brought his wild imaginings back into a semblance of useful order.

If my immediate goal is to unlock the subskills, I should focus on figuring out the other two elements. Playing with new toys always seems to give me a few levels for free.

Remembering Skandor’s green cloud of air that he used to fly around, Jiran blew on the cube with a sigh, wh...

Short update

Thank you everyone, for reading and supporting!

I hope you're all enjoying the new story as much as I am. It's certainly divulged from the original quite a bit by this point and that's not going to stop.

Emperor tier is only one chapter away from the promised twenty chapters ahead and my next goal (which should take a week) is to get that tier to 30 chapters ahead.

Chapter 37 - A Hunger For Knowledge

Jiran woke up to the unfamiliar sight of a thick, canvas roof rippling gently in the soft breeze. A sleeping roll he didn’t remember entering the night before fell down to his waist.

To his right a familiar sack from the seamstress lay open on the ground, its interior stuffed with new clothes.

Seamstress. Clothes. Lenton.

Jiran shuddered at the invasive mental image of the old woman’s taunting laughter while she wrapped her arms around Lenton.

Lenton Filibree

What… What the hell am I looking at right now?

Lenton sat atop a tall tree far too skinny to hold a normal person and yet the tree held sturdy and strong as he supported it with the barest trickle of his mana body’s aura.

He watched Jiran from a hundred kilometers away as if the distance were just a few meters. A sigh escaped his lips as Jiran slowly advanced through the plains that he had specifically warned him were dangerous.<...

Jiran’s breath turned to icy mist so thick that it froze. The mist hovered in the air before falling under its own weight to the frigid ground. The beast lay dead at his feet within a realm of frost that covered every surface.
