Rise CHAPTER 10 - Oops?

"Stand up and remove your tunic Jiran," Samris commanded. His tone left no room for arguments. Even so, Jiran hesitated, unable to restrain the look of suspicion that crossed his features.

Seeing Jiran pause, and realizing the misunderstanding, Samris quickly raised his hands, waving them frantically.

"I'm just going to track the flow of mana as it passes through your body. Plea...

D. God original Chapter 82

Jiran and Olive flew toward Sophia until the short woman raised her head in their direction. Her aura wrapped around them, halting their momentum instantly.

"Go get changed, we don't have all morning," Her monotone gave Jiran no information to judge her mood.

Olive must know something I don’t, she looks like the reaper's scythe is inches from her neck.

With a nod of understanding, Jiran rushed toward the nearest changing room. Olive was already one step ahead of h...

Rise CHAPTER 9 - I Hope He’s Not A Peedoofile

Jiran awoke with a start as Micah entered the shop. First Father’s light had not yet graced the sky with its presence.

Jiran noticed the dinner Niyah must have brought him the previous night sitting on a wooden plate beside him.

Without hesitation, he dug into the salted meat and vegetables. He watched Micah make his way to the four lamps spread throughout the shop, lighting each one and bringing a flickering glow to the quiet room.

Jiran felt the density from his meal rap...

Progress update

2 days into the reboot of the story and 8 chapters in. I've got the first time skip written out already and am waiting for some minor art updates before I post it.

Chapter 10 is where several new story elements begin to take shape so I hope you all take a gander at it. 11,12,13,14 are all new with a dash of old in at the end which concludes said time skip.

Jiran will have a ton of new adventures on his way to meeting Markhiss and all that shenanigans which I hope is much bet...

Rise CHAPTER 8 - That was… Impressive

How did I never notice how destitute the pier is?

The area consisted of a loose collection of shacks with a single warehouse, which doubled as a fish processing plant. Jiran wanted to feel that the buildings were in fine shape. They had no holes in the walls or roofs.

His memories from Brandon stubbornly disagreed. Misshapen walls and rough discolored patches on the roof tiles led the mind toward thoughts of a typical slum in a small village.

Elder Boolek is usu...

Rise CHAPTER 7 - Worst Day Ever?

The man spoke in a whisper they should not have been able to hear from such a distance. The voice reverberated in a unique way that set alarm bells ringing in Jiran’s skull.

As if in a trance, Niya sprinted to the man. She moved so quickly she nearly collided with the man as she skidded to a halt in front of him. Then she stared at the man’s chest, not saying a word or moving a muscle.

What the shart, Niya!? Can this day get any crazier?

Rise CHAPTER 6 - Another Brick in The Wall

Jiran pulled the cloak’s hood over his head before he steadily walked across the street into an alley between two larger homes.

https://imgur.com/M46W8ho

Once inside the relative cover of shadows, he stole a glance in the direction of all the noise.

The sight of three priests from the Church of the Voice, followed by a throng of villagers, including his mother, caused Jiran to break into a sweat.

Rise CHAPTER 5 - Get to Work

Soon after his initial success, Jiran changed focus to his heart and other organs. Luckily, the tiering had progressed enough not to leave him with ruptured and cracked innards, bringing him immense relief.

After a quick prayer, thanking the Fathers he was even alive, he shifted to working on his arteries.

So long as there is no internal bleeding, I should stabilize long enough to finish healing.

Jiran lost himself in the process of dominating the density as it ente...

Rise CHAPTER 4 - I Know Who I Am

Jiran woke up with a start. Before even a single thought could surface, he was gripped by intense pain, as if thousands of needles pierced the flesh all over his body.

He waited in agony, hoping the sensations would relent as time passed. Instead, they ebbed and flowed with each breath. Alternating between torment so great he couldn't think, to a comparably lesser misery that was only just bearable.

So, it's my breathing. There must be something wrong with my muscular tissue i...

The palace shook as Dominus laughed into his ear. A quick glance up confirmed he was the only one who could hear him.

“One of my mothers must have told a terribly funny joke for Father to be laughing so hard this early in the morning,” Olive looked between the two of them, seeing their concern, she made a further attempt to explain.

“It’s quite normal, I assure you. Fear not, Father has held the palace together through far worse.”

The only joke around here is m...

Poll for Image placement in chapters

I don't see any options to hide the images with a spoiler tag on Patreon.

So they either need to go in the middle of the chapter which can certainly disrupt flow.

Or they can go at the end where it's hard to see the relevance of them in some situations.

If anyone has any other ideas, please let me know!

CHAPTER 3 - Just Who The Hell Do You Think I Am?

It took very little time for Jiran and Micah to string the huge slab of meat up above the fire pit. Jiran turned to head back outside but Micah stopped him with a raised hand.

“I want you to take the rest of the day off. Niya will finish your deliveries for the afternoon and bring back your satchel. You’re going to want to prepare yourself for tonight.

“Tiering up is important Jiran, especially after what you just did,” Micah breathed a gust of air out of his nose as he sq...

CHAPTER 2 - The Imperial Tithe

The beast was terrifying.

Three meters tall at the shoulder, with four reverse-jointed legs. Dozens of red, beady eyes covered its head. The brown body was coated in stiff hair interspersed with spiky protrusions long enough to impale clear through a grown man.

By far, the most nightmare-inducing quality was its maw. Big enough to easily swallow Jiran whole, coated in hundreds of teeth; there wasn’t even a tongue, just rows and rows of teeth. Like two beds of nails.

Chapter 1 - So It Begins

Jiran gently awoke to the soft sounds of birds chirping in the early morning light. An instant later, he was flooded with conflicting emotions, adrenaline bringing him fully awake.

Today is the day!

Combating a surge of nervous excitement, he coaxed his breathing to slow and his heart to return to its normal cadence.

Even if it's the celebration of my first birthing day, work still needs to be done.

He stretched lightly, extending his small, wiry arms...

!!BIG ANNOUCEMENT!!

WithIf re-reading isn't your thing, for the first 11 chapters, the new content is almost entirely Internal dialog and stats / attributes / art so just skim those and you will be in the know. Starting on chapter 12 is 100% new content so definitely don't skip after that!

Not even ten minutes into the first chapter, I realized that I was doing my story a disservice.

Originally, I dreamt of Density God as a LITRPG. However, it being my first attempt at writing, I allowed intimidation...

Chapter 80

Jiran awoke to the sounds of birds cawing.

There are birds in the capital? Oh, that’s right. I’m in the palace now. Maybe they have an atrium.

A pleasant aroma tickled his senses. He took a brief moment to luxuriate in the softness that surrounded him on all sides. Carefully, he sat up in bed. A bed that he quickly remembered was not his own.

Leaning back against the headboard, he examined the beautiful blue-haired girl wrapped tightly around his left leg. She s...

Niila and Miila woke up to their parents' hugs and head pats. The twins showed confusion as their eyes fluttered open.

“What happened? How am I back home? The last thing I remember is a scary guy telling me to go to sleep,” Miila looked at her mother, expecting an explanation.

“It was a bad dream, little bear. Everything is fine now.”

“Jiran, this is your fault, isn’t it? What did you do?” Niila squinted her eyes at Jiran with the petulant anger only a child co...

“EEHHH???!!!!”

Jiran would have laughed at the sound of complete incredulity that escaped Olive’s lips if he wasn’t so shocked himself.

Marry? Olive? What is he talking about?

Glancing up, Jiran saw the massive smile on Dominus’s face as the father looked fondly at his daughter.

Oh, he was joking. He’s just trying to get a rise out of her.

What a massive troll! Please leave me out of your jokes, you scary bastard.

Chapter 77

Lenton and Samris

Far to the east of the central imperial metropole of Cruex, atop a mountain that dwarfed its quickly vanishing neighbors, stood a small hut.

Made entirely of compressed rock and stone, its simple appearance would have caused any imperial who sighted it to immediately grow suspicious. For even a small child knew it was impossible to build anything within the Crags of Caldara.

As far as the eye could see, in every direction, the land heaved l...

Jiran’s Perspective

The moment Jiran felt the man’s aura, he knew something was wrong. The slimy surface of energy pressed against his own. It rippled and undulated like a sea urchin swimming through a sewer. He could feel it trying to corrupt his own energies, but he repelled it as easily as he had blocked the mana cage from stealing his mana as a child.

The man’s entire body glowed with an eerie red light just before he began to convulse with powerful seiz...

Interesting. It’s definitely connected to them somehow. Does that mean it’s also connected to the Fireling? How long has he been interacting with these beasts? Is that the source of his power?

I have to know. Whatever advantage that lucky little shit found, I’m going to take it from him.

Chapter 74

Mayalyn’s Perspective Continued

Mayalyn hastily crept out of the small, abandoned farm the tunnels had led her to. Three unused fields were overgrown with bushes and sprouting trees surrounding the dilapidated shed and single-story house. A barn missing one of its walls, which looked ready to collapse, was the only other structure.

She had to move quickly to keep up with the rapidly fading scent left behind by Miila. After running for thirty minutes, she crested...

Chapter 73

Jiran left the academy drained almost entirely of mana and aura but with soaring spirits.

I can’t believe I get to do that every morning! So awesome. I take back all my negative thoughts about the academy. This place is just what I need.

As he walked with a pep in his step, a sudden feeling of dread formed in his neck and wormed its way into his chest to coil around his heart with a vice-like grip. He stopped in his tracks, the couple walking behind him nearly colliding...

Mayalyn’s Perspective Continued

The table Mayalyn and Niila sat at exploded as the older girl went right through the wood on her way to the man holding Miila by the neck. Mayalyn’s vision turned red and her peripheral vision shrank as the muscled man loomed ever closer.

She noticed the second man move when it was far too late to block his kick. The boot that landed in her chest smashed her back into the wall behind where she had started and then straight throu...

“Those of you not suited up, your punishment will be running the perimeter of the garden until you are dismissed.”

Jiran woke up when he felt Olive stirring in his aura. He quickly came fully awake, his brain feeling refreshed from the catnap.

With an evil grin, he stood up and lightly padded over to stand next to the twitching girl. He bent at the waist until his face was just a centimeter from hers, their noses almost touching. He carefully observed her facial muscles, wanting his timing to be perfect.

Just as her eyes were about to open, he pounced.

Chapter 68

Jiran released the mana holding his flames together, allowing them to fade from existence. With a flick of his wrist, the outline of a human body appeared on the board behind him.

“I’ve explained how communication with mana is the basis of control. Next, I will cover how to form a bridge between thought and mana to facilitate said communication.

“First, I will answer some questions,” Jiran pointed at a student who had braved the front of the audience. He stood alone amidst...
