Still working the Off Camera Flash. We found the Magsphere diffuser is a perfect solution to big, soft boxes in bad weather. Also serves our needs out on desert locations efficiently and effectively. Honestly, we were natural-light shooters up until recently. Now, we can't imagine not having OCF.

If you have been following us for a while now, on Instagram and especially from our Tumblr days, then you know this is a classic Naked Desert image. We take one every time we pass through Petrified Forest National Park. We are certain no one else has this shot!

Not sure if you've noticed, but we've started using Off Camera Flash as a fill and to add some highlights and separation to the subject. We are happy with the results!
Right now we're working with one light (A Godox AD200 pro if anyone is interested), and it's opened a lot more options and creativity.

Sometimes for "date night" we practice shooting to see what ideas may come. No matter what, we always learn something whether it is a new angle, a lighting/flash situation, or Elle finds a pose to be "used later in the desert" etc....
Or, we just end up enjoying her being her naked, sensual self. These are never boring dates ;)

You might remember we shot with Lexxi a while back. She had been wanting to shoot with us for a while, and we were finally able to connect. It was her first outdoor shoot, and she was amazed with our favorite overlook of Canyon Lake. Seemingly when models are in environments that they feel are beautiful, it seems to translate well to how comfortable they feel posing nude....

This was our fourth visit to idyllic Telluride, and this was our favorite rental to date. As you can see it had a roof top deck in the middle of town within 3 blocks and earshot of the Blues Fest. The weather was in the 70s with stunning blue skies and no mosquitoes to speak of ;) And, the sounds and vibes from the main stage helped to set the mood!
We are hoping to return again in the summer to attend Telluride's even more famous Blue Grass Festival!

Jasmine will agree: These shots are absolutely stunning. I won't say much other than that this was our 2nd time shooting with Jasmine, and she came ready to kill the shoot! Naturally, we are making plans for a third.

Clearing up some memory on my phone before we travel to Telluride, CO, this weekend. Also, playing around with the Prequel App some more.
Here's some more BTS of our time shooting in Page, AZ, and in and around the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument. Not only is the landscape and geologic feature surreal and other worldly, we are guaranteed pretty dramatic weather.

We had another opportunity to shoot with Jasmine Sierra a couple weeks ago (as you may have noticed lately). Luckily for us we had some time booked out at our friend's house. Here's a BTS video of Elle doing what she does best at one of our favorite spots in Southern Utah. Besides the surreal landscape dressed in Kayenta Red, we are sure to get interesting weather that adds some interest and tension to our compositions. Certainly we hope for an explosive sunset, but windy, stormy weather adds a lot of action. Also this video gives you sense of the elements she has to deal with while Naked in the Desert!

For several reasons, we haven't been shooting in our beloved, arid environment. Sometimes it is a matter of choice. Often it s a matter of convenience. Shooting in some of our desert locales will add an extra hour or two to the commute many times. Not to mention there may be a hike involved, and we also have to account for AZ's deadly summer heat.

We had plans to shoot other compositions at this Air BnB. But, a monsoon storm kept us inside. Luckily for us, the treated concrete and lighting in the dining room looked interesting. We cleared out some furniture, Elle put on the coconut oil, and did what she does best. Some of our most favorite work to date.
