WIP: "Riku"

I'm so glad Riku won the poll this month. He was hands down my favourite character in Kingdom Hearts- and that had nothing to do with the long, white hair that I ever so tragically had to trim down in this rendition... Q_Q

Tetsuya Nomura was my first ever reference and inspiration as a budding artist and so for this piece I wanted to try my hand at following in his style, if only to prove to myself that I'm about halfway there.

An update on commissions

First, this month's rewards have been sent! I apologise for the delay- still recovering from the post-Christmas slog.

Beyond - [ Commission ]

I've decided that, as well as the regular Patreon pieces, I should post the commissions I make for my patrons as a way to show those of you who don't follow me on social media that I do, in fact, do things. Sometimes.

Anyways, this was definitely a challenge, what with that background and my self-hating inclination to set a light source at the back. Overall, I think it came out pretty nice!

Heavensfall

It's still November right?! Ahahaha.... ohgodimsosorry. This is what happens when I take holidays. Someone, quick, crack a whip!

Despite the delay, I'm really happy with how this turned out- it's probably my favourite piece this year. I'm also really glad Nael won the poll, as I've always had a huge fascination with this character and this fight (I may have developed a sort of Stockholm syndrome after weeks wiping it...)

WIP: "Heavensfall"

The lineart for this month's piece - Nael Deus Darnus, the raid boss for Turn 4 of the Second Coil of Bahamut.

This boss "Nael-ed" (HURHUR) me so hard at the time. Never did get it cleared before the echo was released. Or after. Or until the cap was raised.

I feel like trying to get this done in the next 2 days before the end of the month is going to have a similar effect.

Lenneth [ Inktober 5 ]

I've never played Valkyrie Profile, although somehow this game has been very present throughout my life. I remember it being a big deal when I was just starting to get into JRPGs.

The inking for this one was a little more convoluted than all the previous ones because I wanted it to be a little more subtle and refined, to match the character's concept.

I haven't personally played Destiny, but side-eyed enough of it to love Cayde's character. Enough to risk putting him in a poll I knew he'd win just to end up drawing my first robot ever.

Moenbryda [ Inktober 3 ]

I really enjoyed drawing this one. I loved her character and was disappointed she had such a short stint- early on enough too that I think she gets forgotten a lot.

The flowers and wisps are representative of where they sent her off in Mor'Dhona- one of my favourite places in the game.

Arthas [ Inktober 2 ]

Y'shtola's Sacrifice

The concept behind this picture was to represent the moment Y'shtola lost her eyesight in the lifestream. It was meant to be a loose interpretation - thus the new clothes and the fancy aether and the general angst that our favourite cat lady would never really indulge on.

I also started working on this before the most recent patch came out. If I had only known, this piece may have ended up being called "Y'shtola's Sass"
