I could have done anything for this Ultimate Mystery Box, so I decided to make my life really, really hard by painting hundreds of little crystal facets.
This character has such a neat concept and I wanted to explore some new stuff, such as a sharp back angle, dragon wings, crystals... so many crystals. It definitely became quite ambitious and there are things I might revisit in the future to improve readability, but for now here she is.

The good news is that this should be a fairly light update, so if anything I’ll be doing my part in keeping some of that elusive time in your pockets!

So this WIP is pretty exciting, as it's going to be a cover for a special edition of SD Simper's book (Carmilla & Laura) - a lesbian vampire story. There will be a Kickstarter running soon to fund the book and some special goodies.
I'll share more details once it's gone live so please look forward to it (and get ready to support it!)
It was a bit of a rough week, what with my dog getting suddenly sick and then the rest of the house following suit, so I decided to indulge myself yesterday and do a quick study of the rendering style of Arcane, but featuring my FFXIV WoL.
This also happens to be the first time I've drawn her since I swapped to highlander, so it's actually really nice to finally have a portrait of her.
Baby's first comic book character! I'm not super familiar with DC or Batman as a whole - beyond the cartoon from the 90's, which I'd dash home to watch right after Animaniacs and followed by Power Rangers (if that don't tell you how old I am...) - so this was a bit of a challenge.
I wanted it to have a very comic-book, textured style, though of course I got carried away rendering the face and hair. So much for consolidating my style I guess. <.<

These are going to take me a minute to complete, but I'm really looking forward to pushing boundaries and learning a lot as I work on them. This may or may not involve copious amounts of crying or attempts to chuck my tablet out the window.
