The Allure of Wanton Cove TEST Build .92

New build for all of you!  This one includes one new piece of art (Seriously, got it less than an hour ago, haven't even had a chance to share it with you all properly yet!), more Lady Anne content (Can now visit her home normally if you have high enough depravity.  Also added some dialogue options for her.), a new story driven scene on the 7th morning, and followup dialogue for Tanya (Ask her about Tom again.)

After dealing with the stress and chaos of this morning, I finally got to do a bit of writing.  

Wrote one story driven scene plus a followup piece for it today.  Thought it was going to be a difficult scene to write, but it actually came together very easily.  Very happy about that.

Received the art piece for your first meeting with Azumi today.  (Will be sharing that with Patreons at that level tomorrow, along with something else I have planned special for those Pat...

Little Scare: Update

For those of you who have been keeping up since this morning's post:

I received a message this morning saying that the payout information associated with my account had been changed and my account was temporarily on hold (This is normal.  Any time you change something involving payment, Patreon locks all funds for a couple of days, then sends out a message to the creator in question to confirm that they were actually the person who made those changes.)

Little scare this morning.

When I got up this morning and sat down to start working on Wanton Cove, I discovered a  little scare in my email inbox in addition to the usual fanmail and messages.  I received a notice saying that my password, email, and/or payout methods have been changed and all payouts have been frozen for a few days while the information is processed. (On the grounds that I was able to log in regularly this morning, I'm guessing its some kind of change to the payouts.)

Inheritance WIP art.

Got a bit of back and forth going today with the artists.  After giving them a bit of a poke, they shared this with me to show what they had been working on.

Really happy with how its all coming together.  Hope that you guys enjoy this WIP piece as much as I did!  Would love to hear people thoughts, comments, and/or constructive criticism about the piece!

The Allure of Wanton Cove progress report:

Today was a real crap shoot for progress.  Did a LOT of work, but didn't end up with a ton to show for it.

Wrote about 2k words of unique content today and plugged it into the game.  Decided that I didn't like how the larger of the three pieces flowed, so ended up redoing the whole thing.  At the same time, I did several minor/moderate rewrites in the game.  All that while trying to hack up a lung.  On the up side, I'm breathing a lot better now and feeling ...

General Update

Felt like death warmed over all day today.  No amount of cough syrup seemed to make any difference.  Oh well, at least I started feeling better late this afternoon, to that's a big plus.

General Update

Been pretty sick the last couple of days now, all stuffed up and wanting nothing more than to crawl into bed, pull the covers over my head, and ignore the world until it passes.

The Allure of Wanton Cove: Quick Fix

This is just a quick little fix for those who want it.  Apparently when I rebuilt Lady Anne's intro content, I forgot to include the ability to continue!  This fix should resolve that problem for all three of her intro scene variants.

Instead of adding a new post for both builds of the game, I instead uploaded the new .91b html files to the .91a posts.  All you should need to do is download the new html and drop it into your existing game folder where your current htm...

Short Update:

So, started working on Wanton Cove bug reports late this morning.  There were two reported.  

The first one was the version of Cobb's scene on main street where there was no exit.  Once I found which of the three variants of the scene was hanging us up, it was just a case of copy/pasting the exit from the scene to the one missing it.  Simple.

The second one was a bit more work.  Spent about an hour trying to figure out how my code in the good part of town was bro...

The Allure of Wanton Cove WIP art!

Got an updated version of the sketches I shared a few days ago.  This is a fully colored version of the game image.  The next step will be to put the final touches on the images and to do the backgrounds.  The artist suggested that finishing up the background art should go pretty quickly

The good:

The new build of Wanton Cove has been out for about 10 hours now, and haven't received any bug reports yet.  I take that as a good sign, after all, it seems like the bulk of the bugs reported appear in the first 24 hours or so.  I'll keep my eyes pealed, but this build looks like it might be one and done (Watch, I just jinxed myself.  I'll have broken something, . . . )  The up side of this is that with no bugs reported, I have more time to actually WRITE!

Progress Report:

I'll start with Wanton Cove news.  I received a bug report yesterday, only had any trouble with one item, and it looks like I fixed that one on accident (Keeping my fingers crossed on that one.  Cleaned up some code and the problem seems to have gone away.  Hopefully its resolved, but who knows.)

With bugs resolved, I hope to have the new build of The Allure of Wanton Cove out by this time tomorrow.  Assuming anything else crops up, I should have time both tomorrow and Frid...

Thought I'd catch you all up on what's been going on the last few days, and what I hope to accomplish in the coming days.

A lot of my time over the last few days has involved Inheritance.  

Off and on, I've been talking with the artists as we work on the cover page and start looking at which pieces to work on next.  They're doing a really amazing job and I can hardly wait to start sharing completed pieces with everyone!
