Just wanted to draw him again! I guess at this point he does count as an oc huh. Also the bottom right was a WIP that I stopped working on last year that I repainted over. Been testing on coloring and shading techniques; the one on the left was shaded in grayscale!

Drawing the bun for the first time in a while, for the year of the rabbit! The lighting and fireworks stuff are pretty experimental cause I never worked with it much, but I think it looks good enough ^^

Spent the last few days doing some low pressure doodles of whatever I can think of. Practicing body shapes, faces, drawing new and old characters!
It's much easier on paper for me for some reason; it might be because of how intimidating a large canvas size is. I started getting better at it near the end, focusing on getting the idea out without fixating on having to get the lines perfect.

Hey all! Another pretty big project :'3 More practice with backgrounds and lighting! Pretty happy about the results. It does feel nice to give pieces a background to work with, rather than a simple gradient that I usually fall back on. But it also requires a lot more time, haha! Also you have to go into the drawing with the idea of doing a background, instead of doing it last.

Just wanted to experiment with some tones. Kite's really good at it so I had them help me learn some tricks, like the gradient tone on the typhlosion! This kind of style requires me to do lineart at the start and I've gotten so used to being kinda lazy about it because I can paint over it... this was rough :'3

Wanted to do something involving like a crop-top because I wanted to practice doing a more defined belly region for practice! Another painted piece where the lineart was done after the painting, kinda weird but it works haha
Doing basic shading blocks before starting to render something helps a lot. It makes it so going back and painting over something you didn't like not too bad aka. less sunken cost (which im pretty susceptible to)

been a while, wanted to do another animation. Focused more on having a smooth animation, but because more time was spent there, I had less motivation to fully color and such. Usually, animations go by 24 fps, but I didn't know that for all my previous animations, so this should look a lot smoother now!

Been doing a lot of pieces that focused on getting the details on one character very well done, wanted to relax a bit.
I do want to be able to allow myself to finish some doodles, give it some basic grayscale and call it done, but I often force myself to finish pictures, haha.

Been a while since I did an oversized hoodie! Still one of my favorite outfits :3 It's just hard to incorporate subtle parts of anatomy of the body with it.
Speaking of anatomy, I started practicing having better ways to build a character using shapes! I'll have some extra pictures below the WIPs if you want to see.

It's the summer which means it's beach time! Kite and I joke how I use them as a heater cause I'm cold all the time, so here's the opposite of that :'3 Must be rough being under the sun with all that fluff!

Some fanart of some characters I liked for a long time but haven't drawn before! This is another painting and it took me around 40~ hours to complete, phew! The last few days were definitely rough with 6-7 hour sessions to finish the piece. But I'm glad it's finally done.

Wasn't initially gonna be a maid outfit, but I actually like the apron the outfits have, so I wanted to give them it.
A bit more of a faster paced drawing to see how well I can do a drawing in a smaller amount of time. I'd definitely like to finish drawings faster!

Wanted to test around developing a more appealing eye style! So was thinking of ways to do multiple pictures of the derg, so I thought of food!
It's supposed to look like time is passing from day to night between the four pics.
Also I got the backgrounds by going around Genshin and taking some screenshots, adding some colors to make it match the theme, and blurring it. First time doing something like this, but I think it looks pretty good!

Someone else's character! Messed around with how I do lighting again, and using a more harmonized color pallete:
Choosing the base colors and then layering them on top of a main theme color, then lowering the opacity of the basic colors a bit to make them similarly influenced by the theme!

Pink hoodies work well on any character!
Been wanting to do another reshiram for a while now... but geez the fluff takes an extremely long time to get it to look right. It's hard going for a mix of your own style + staying true to the OG design.

Used a new textured brush for the lineart for this one! And a much larger canvas, so it might be hard to see the texture unless you zoom in, which is perfect! Been experimenting a bit with stuff, if you couldn't tell from the unfinished sketches I made, haha!

Felt like doing another formal dress outfit kind of thing, so this is the go-to oc for it :'3
Small, uncomplicated background, not much details and added a small Gaussian blur to make it not draw too much attention. I liked the idea but not sure if I did it too well. Hopefully it's enough because others won't stare at it for too long, haha!
