Umemulo marathon dance bare

Umemulo is a traditional Zulu coming of age ceremony for women. The rituals involve slaughtering a cow and the traditional Zulu dance Ukusina involving a spear. A woman's Umemulo ceremony signifies that she is now ready for marriage. The Girl is supposed to stay 7 Days in the Rondovel with her friends and practising Songs for the Ceremony. Nomkhubulwane is the goddess of rain, nature and fertility. A festival for the goddess is held every year where virgin maidens all over south Africa are gathered to sing, dance and make sacrifices to the goddess for a fruitful year.
