Quick update on the Ishin review:

Okay so it's been about a week since I last updated you guys on the Ishin video, and thankfully I have a bit to show for it this time!

Since my last post, I got through the final act of the game's story, wrote and finalized the entire script, have recorded the voiceover for the whole thing, and am currently in the early stages of editing everything together! This one's going to be a bit on the longer side since there ended up being a TON of things that I wanted to dig into with this one...

A quick update on what's been going on this last week:

Okay, so it's been a minute since I last did an update on what I've been working on, but I have a good reason for that. For the last week straight, I've been sinking all the time that I possibly can into the next game that we're reviewing on the channel: Ryu ga Gotoku Ishin!

This was the other Edo period Yakuza spin-off that the RGG guys made, and also just so happens to have never released outside of Japan. The game's 2023 remake would be released internationally, but the original neve...

The Resident Evil: Revelations Review is up early for Contributors and above!

The Resident Evil: Revelations review is ready to go! This one took a bit longer than expected, mostly because my girlfriend got super sick a few days ago and I've been prioritizing taking care of her, but it thankfully didn't delay things by too much.

I've been super excited to finally share this one with you guys, since Revelations has always been one of the coolest games the series has to offer. It's not only one of the most impressive titles in the Resident Evil franchise, but also ...

Quick update on the Resident Evil: Revelations video:

Alright, so it's been a few days now since I finished playing through RE Revelations for the review, and I have a quick update on how things are going.

Since my last post, I've written and recorded the entirety of the videos script, and am now working through the longest part of the process. The editing. The video is going to be about 21 minutes long once it's totally finished, and I'm just reaching the 10 minute mark in terms of the video's editing. Once I have all of the clips/edits d...

Update on the next video:

Up next on the channel, we have a video covering one of the only Resident Evil spin-offs that I had played prior to the retrospective, and one that I just so happen to enjoy a good bit. Resident Evil Revelations. This was the big RE title that Capcom developed for the 3DS (The Mercenaries 3D was just an additional game to strengthen brand presence on the system), and it's one that's honestly really damn impressive, so I'm excited to talk about it!

I just finished playing through the gam...

The Armored Core: Mobile Mission Review is up early for Contributors and above!

THE FIRST ARMORED CORE VIDEO IN OVER A YEAR AND A HALF IS HERE!!

I'm super excited to finally be covering this series again, even if it is just for a little mobile spinoff getting a new port that finally preserves it for fans. I know that a solid amount of you found the channel back when we were doing the Armored Core series, so hopefully you guys are just as excited for this one as I am!

The public release of the video will be on Saturday morning, and as always, any sort of suppo...

A new bonus video is up early for Contributors and above!

Well I did mention in the last post that you guys should expect one of these soon, but I didn't think that it would be THIS soon 😅

This is the first video I've made with the new editor that I'm working with! In it I'm doing a sort of first impressions/early review on The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered. Those of you who hang out in the streams would already know that I've been playing the hell out of this one since it came out, and I saw the timing of both this new release and ...

The next week on the channel is going to be a good one...

Alright, so for the next video on the channel, we're taking a quick trip back to the series that truly got my YouTube career started. That is to say, it's Armored Core time baby.

We just recently got a new port of "Armored Core: Mobile Mission", the first in a small series of mobile Armored Core titles from the mid-2000's that were only ever released in Japan. These games have been considered lost media for over a decade now, hence why I never covered them in the original run of the ser...

The "Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D" Review is up early for Contributors and above!

THE RESIDENT EVIL 3D REVIEW IS UP!

This was definitely one of the weirdest games I've had to cover in a while. It took me a little longer than expected due to some rewriting of the script and just the weirdness of editing around the 3DS's dual-screen display, but I really like how this one came out, even though it's fairly short.

The public release of the video will be on Friday, so any support on that would be greatly appreciated as always! Hopefully you guys enjoy the video, an...

Quick update on what's next:

Alright, so the next video I'm working on is going to be a bit of a weird one.

The next game we're covering is "Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D", which is certainly one of the Resident Evil games of all time. This was a full retail game that was essentially just RE4 and RE5's Mercenaries modes being downscaled and ported over to the Nintendo 3DS, and the result is... interesting...

Work on this one is coming along pretty well, as I've already played through the whole thing, fina...

The "Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles" Review is up early for Contributors and above!

THE DARKSIDE CHRONICLES VIDEO IS HERE!

This one took a little bit longer than expected due to some real life stuff getting in the way, but it's finally ready to go! I was honestly really surprised by The Darkside Chronicles during my time with it, and at the risk of spoiling some of my thoughts in the video, I genuinely think that this is one of the best on-rails shooters that I've ever played. I'm really happy with how the video turned out, and I hope that you guys enjoy it as much as ...

What's up next on the channel?

Alright, so after the behemoth of a project that was the Yakuza 5 video, we're going back to something a little more within the usual scope for the channel. The next video I've got coming up is covering Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles, the direct sequel to Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles. This is another Wii-exclusive on-rails shooter set within the Resident Evil universe, but this time, the game focuses on telling the stories of Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield.

The Yakuza 5 Review is finally up early for Contributors and above!

After a very long production, the Yakuza 5 review is finally ready to go!

For those that don't already know, Yakuza 5 is notorious for having the most content packed into it out of any game in the series, a title that it still holds to this day, even alongside many other entries that are well over 100 hours long for completionists. It's made the game fairly divisive among fans of the franchise, with some feeling that it's still RGG's best work to date, and others feeling like it's an ov...

The Long Awaited Update:

Alright, so two weeks later, I finally have a solid update to give you guys on the Yakuza 5 video!

I've finished the game, with my playthrough taking a little over 60 hours in total since I wanted to make sure I properly engaged with all the content in the game to form a well-informed opinion on this behemoth. I've also written and finalized the script, and I can tell you all that we're looking at a video somewhere in the ballpark of 40-50 minutes in length. I've just gotten started on ...

Update on what's next:

Alright, so since finishing up the Peace Walker segment, I've been sinking pretty much all of my time outside of streaming into Yakuza 5. This game is notoriously long, even by Yakuza standards. So far, I've put a little over 12 hours into it, and I'm just about finishing Kiryu's portion of the game... meaning I'm a little less than a quarter of the way through. So yeah, this is a pretty big project that's definitely going to take 2-3 weeks.

This is probably the largest project I've tak...

Exclusive(?) smaller video for Contributors and above!

This is a much smaller re-review of Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker that I've put together for a large collaboration project organized by a YouTuber named Zanyverse. The larger project has roughly 30 of us gaming YouTubers taking a look back on all of the biggest games released in the year 2010, and when I heard that they were looking to fill a slot for MGS Peace Walker, I had to jump on it. This may be an exclusive upload just for Contributors, or I might publish it on my own channel later on...

The Resident Evil 5 DLC Review is up early for Contributors and above!

The RE5 DLC video is ready to go!

Like I said in my last post, this one is a bit on the shorter side, but it covers some content that definitely deserves some coverage in a series like this. It also lets me feel out how I want to cover DLC content for some of the later games in the series that have some incredibly important pieces of DLC content, so that's definitely a nice bonus.

Also like I mentioned in my last post, I'll be spending the next couple days putting my full effort i...

The next video is a bit interesting...

Alright, so this next project is something that simultaneously fits right in with everything I've been doing on the channel for the last year and a half or so, but is also entirely different. For the first time out of all the Retrospectives we've done so far, I'll be covering DLC content!

The next video is a smaller project going over every single piece of DLC content ever released for Resident Evil 5 and determining whether or not they were worth the price Capcom was selling them for a...

The Resident Evil 5 Review is up early for Contributors and above!

Alright, so it's a bit later than expected, but the Resident Evil 5 video is finally ready to go! That large collab project took up a little more of my time this week than I had expected, but thankfully this one was still ready on time, even if it unfortunately means a shorter early access period for you guys. Luckily, my project for next week is pretty small in scale, so it shouldn't take too long to get things back on track... but we'll talk more about that sometime in the next couple days....

What's up next on the channel?

Alright, so a bit of an interesting update for you guys today.

Since finishing work on the Kurohyou 2 video, I've been working on the Resident Evil 5 review, but progress has been a bit slower than usual. This is because I've been working on a smaller project for a giant collaboration video with other gaming YouTubers where about 30 of us are doing our own mini reviews of different games and compiling them in one giant video. It's a really cool project that I'm super glad I was invited ...

Alright, so after one of the lengthier productions I've had in a bit and some rendering issues, the Kurohyou 2 video is finally ready to go! I was really excited to cover this one, as the first Kurohyou was easily my favorite game in the Yakuza series so far, but I've left this one feeling much more... mixed.

It's definitely still one of the more interesting games in the series to talk about though, and I'm pretty happy with how the video turned out! As always, I hope you guys enjoy, an...

Quick update on the Kurohyou 2 video:

Okay, so in the last few days, I've gotten a ton of work done on the Kurohyou 2 review!

I've written and finalized the script, have been working on recording all the voice over for the video (which has been taking longer than usual this week because my voice has been much more strained than usual these last few days), and I've roughly edited nearly half of the video. About 10 minutes of the video are almost fully edited currently, and I'm expecting the final product to be 22-25 minutes ...

What have I been working on for the past week?

Okay, so the last few days of video work have been a bit of a grind, but I finally have some things to talk about here.

The next video that I'm working on is for "Kurohyou 2: Ryu ga Gotoku Ashura Hen", which is of course the direct sequel to the first Kurohyou game that we covered about a month ago. This one was a bit longer to play through than expected, but I finally finished the game earlier today, and am just now getting started on the scripting process. Based on the notes that I to...

The Umbrella Chronicles review is ready to go!

This was yet another really interesting spinoff from the Resident Evil series, and to my surprise, it was also one of my favorites so far. It's a bit of a shorter video since the game is pretty simple, but I really enjoyed working on this one and I'm excited to finally be able to share it with you guys!

A bit of a late update on this one, but I wanted to wait until I had a little more to talk about with it. The next video on the channel is going to be about Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles, which is a much more interesting game than I had thought it would be. This was an on-rails arcade shooter made exclusively for the Nintendo Wii, and while it's pretty simple all things considered, it's still a pretty fun game to talk about!

Okay, a lot has happened since the last update on the Dead Souls review. Since then, I got through the second half of the game, written and finalized the entire script, and gotten started on the voice work and editing.

This one definitely won't be ready in time for next Monday, as these Yakuza videos tend to get pretty long and I'm still only about halfway through playing it. Regardless, I'm excited to share my many, many thoughts that I have on the game so far, and I look forward to being able to share more ...
