It took me a long part of the day to figure out what this comic would be about since I needed something to bridge to the next part of the arc and a reason for Drew to leave the apartment.

Having Lyn be the person that Buffy talked to about Drew not having a job, in addition to her not having one at the same time I was able to use that as a device to spur both of them forward.

None of that relates to the art, but the art is pretty straight forward for this. I had to add the sleeve...

I still have at least another hour or two for details, shading/highlighting, and other effects but I'm calling it for tonight.

I wanted to have George angriest in panel one and soften as we got to three. John was just going to continue showering the whole time so I knew he was going to be in silhouette so I just did him at the ink stage.

More work on the commission

This was going to be a dialogue heavy strip so it had to accommodate a lot of word balloons so a diner set up was an easy solution. Also placing them at the diner gave Lyn's last balloon's dialogue meaning.

Lyn had a little rework with her hair and the side of her face... plus she's wearing her new sweatshirt for the Fall/Winter outfit. Her old shirt was her work attire and like she mentions, she doesn't have a job anymore.

Commission work

Here's the start of a commission I'm doing for a friend. It's still super duper rough and it'll be worked on a little each day when I have a half hour or so to spare. I'll occasionally post updates when I feel they're appropriate.

I had several sizing and placement adjustments as I went to inks. Drew in panel one is hella rough here... I was able to tighten him up in inks, but as a sketch he's just not there yet.

This one was pretty simple. Add a little more detail to the bust zoom in in panel 2... and then character pop out for panel 3.

There was lots of back and forth on sizing for this strip. I ended up doing the background rather early in the production of this and I had to adjust the characters to fit. Then I had to push them further down the page to accommodate the dialogue since there ended up needing to be more than I originally planned.

This one was pretty standard, the scooter was taken from a previous comic and then I just inked over it and copy/pasted said inks.

I'm not super thrilled with Zoey's face in panel three, but it's okay... It's been pretty consistent that my favorite art of Glenda is the last time I've drawn her which means her design is continuing to get better in my opinion.

I do like Zoey's outfit now... and I like like her face most of the time. I'm not 100% on her hair. I might have to make so...

Very by the numbers composition. Not much to say about this, but I wanted to bring Lizzy's hat back from the last hairdo she had and since they left the house I figured it'd work... plus I was sticking Zoey in a hat :)

Stuff and Things

I removed the current milestones from the page, I'm not going to stop doing them but since they all were met and we're not likely to slide down to where we'd have to meet them again-- I decided to remove them as I retool the Patreon front page over the next few months.

ZR has an anniversary on October 26th and I want to focus on moving forward in the next year of the comic's life. One of the goals I want to do is to finish the production of the first book so I can get it printed before ECC...

I wanted to have the girls just talking since it wasn't a location based strip... so I figured it was more than time to have Lizzy playing video games. Zoey is on a tablet since I figured she would be looking at the classes she wants to take. Then it was a matter of body language after that.

The foam fingers were done like a week ago and I just dropped them into the image and then did a horizontal flip for one of them. Since they were already colored and the details on them were done I knew they were being placed in at the completed stage... so they didn't appear in the sketch. The silhouette of the stripper was taken from a NSFW bonus strip so I also didn't need to place it in the sketch.

George in panel one was the first thing I drew for this and he ended up being way too small so I bumped up his size. John is mostly a copy/past for panel two but he had a few changes in his expression. Everything else is pretty by the numbers.
