My parents never talked much about it. They barely acknowledged it. But I specifically remember a boat when I was small. I must have been three or so, because it was before we moved to my childhood home when I was four. I remember being on this boat - crammed into it, really. I got separated from my parents easily and became lost in a sea of legs and ankles. I could hear my mother screaming for me ov...

You woke in the morning, realizing your phone’s alarms weren’t going off. You then remember that your phone had been dropped at the museum and Rabid probably had it now. You scoff, sitting up in bed and you see a figure standing at your window.
You walk up to the stone statue, placing your hand on his back. Last night he felt like velvet, but he was back to the hold stone form you had known for so long. Looking up at Amadou, you see his gaze is focused intensely outside. You d...

For some reason, many years ago, the building you work in was renovated by an eccentric man who liked to collect supposedly ‘cursed’ items. He had the building’s exterior made up to mimic old cathedrals, so there was lots of stonework involved. The building was a stark, dark grey thumb standing out amongst the rows of glass and brick on either side. Part of his collection was also set upon the building, which was mostly a wide array of gargoyles and grotesques.
The building ...

I’ve worked as a gardener for most of my life. My father was a gardener, and I worked with him when I was young. As I grew, I started taking on my own jobs and building up my own reputation. I had a knack for breeding flowers that people prized. I could name my own price and people would pay it.
It can all go away so fast. After some rumors got out, I was no longer the gardener everyone...

I’m collating with Smut-Hamster on something fun. But before I say anything more, I want to hear which of my characters you think would make a good perfume, or deserve a perfume.
Let me know in the comments, maybe even suggest scent ideas too!

Danvers has revealed her intentions and purpose to me. She has shown me her powers, better yet, her powers combined with mine. She is able to soothe the anger of the girls in these walls, granting them wishes which are not always pretty. One would never assume a young lady would have such hatred and bile inside them, no one wants to, but in truth, they sometimes have more than anyone. It is Danvers’ job to alleviate that agony.
I start to witness her machinations from there on. She fi...

For the last couple of weeks, Eli has been away on a mission for the school. The apartment is pretty bare and lonely, even with Spite around, and I’ve missed having Eli to talk to. I didn’t realize how much I would miss him - I mean, I knew I would, but this feels different from what I expected.
Eli and I have become close, even if we had a rocky start when I moved in. Back then I was still...

August will be the last month everyone gets mail outs before I switch back to an every other month deal for my $10 patrons. As such, I have been thinking about how to make sure my $10 patrons don't miss out as well as using the products I have without wasting.
From here on out I've decided my $10 patrons will get what my $20 and up patrons receive a sampling of what came the month before. So come September, my $20 and up patrons will get the mail out as usual, and then in October, the $...

Today I sorted through and started planning and putting together future mail outs. I have plans I will discuss later in a better post (nothing bad at all, in fact it'll assure all mail out recipients don't miss out on things). And anyways, I have a huge backlog of unused stuff. Magnets, stickers, and prints. And considering I have so many new patrons I have come up with a couple of options for October mail outs which will include $10 and up patrons.
First option is a Trick or Treat bag,...

The Blessed Silver School for Boys had been a fading relic when I came to it. I had studied there as a boy, sent into its halls by my father. I was unsure why he did such a thing, as our family wasn’t affluent nor were we known for having any sort of education. It made me angry to be sent away, I just wanted to be with my family. But every time I went home, I began to realize it was not the place I wanted to be.
My mother was controlling and possessive, but in these small, soft ways t...

The fight doesn’t last long - only as long as it takes to get Beau off his brother. His brother is being held at the jail for the time being, but we know he would have to be released eventually. We just have to figure out what to do with him until then. After all, his pack could be looking for him, and from what Beau has told us, the pack isn’t one you’d want to mess with.
After that nigh...

I stayed there for two years?” I say unsurely, trying to piece dates together to form some sort of timeline. “Maybe it was only one. I’m not sure. But it was always a lot of fun putting on shows there at Grirsorth’s castle. I finished painting Marshall’s room, which will now belong to the young werewolf who came into Hearthway Hollow. Beau and I agreed to take him in, and we had taken classes in order to foster him for the time being. We’ve decided to redo Marshall’s room for him to stay in, while we put Marshall’s bed in our room.
The young werewolf had been in Dr. Wahl’s care for a few weeks now. He wa...

I used to joke my job wasn’t so much gardening as it was bored housewives. It was a cruel joke, but it was the truth of the matter. I lie and say it was a rumor, but I know it wasn’t. I got caught one day in the bed of one of my employers’ wives and, from there, people gossiped. Even the other women I slept with. They did it to cover their tracks, but I ended up with the dirt kicked back on me.
It was wrong. I know it was, but the way they ignored it, the way they buried it,...

I’m tucking Marshall into bed when I hear Beau come home. The door downstairs squeaks and closes gently, because Beau knows it’s bedtime. Marshall had a big day, having gone to the doctor for his checkup. The doctor was amazed by his growth - almost three and already a tank, he’s often mistaken for being older than he is.
Once Marshall is asleep, I go downstairs to find Beau at the kitche...

She looked at me with those sharp green eyes and I was eviscerated by just a glance. She saw through me, saw I was just some doormat her father used. She had been the first to tell me I was better.

A few weeks ago, you made a mistake - nothing horrible or ghastly. Just an honest mistake. You went on vacation to visit family back in Scotland. While there, you took a lot of walks on the shore, and one afternoon you found a coat. You searched the beach for its owner, and that was your mistake.
It turns out the man was a Selkie. You’d never really believed the stories, because that’s all ...

The ground you crawl across is hot, grating gravel, scalding your palms and belly as you pull yourself along. You remain as low to the ground as possible, staying out of sight while the strangers wander around. They drag their feet along the earth, scraping them so their feet bend back with the heels to the sky. As they lurch around, making horrible death rattles in their throats, they charge at any ...
