This time I'm taking you to Nara to see how the staff cleans a massive 1300 year old statue, built in 752. They clean it every year on August 7th, it's quite a sight to see! I thought this was a good way to also teach the history behind this amazing attraction. I met the Abbot about 7 years ago and he remembered me, allowed me this interview and access which they've never given to another YouTuber before. I'm very happy at the chance to share this with you. Just making some final changes and the thumbnail for HOW JAPAN CLEANS series as it moves inside Todaiji for one of the most unique cleanings without any electricity of a national treasure. Getting permission and access came with a cost - the temple had a lot of oversight but I could complete the mission for this approved version of a wonderful attraction built in 752, a long time ago! -John

It’s been a nice 2 weeks away from Japan. I thought I’d have more time to stream and podcast but with my parents older and family working, I didn’t get the free time I’d thought I would. However, today I could go to a farm in Vermont to see the animals with Leo - and the tractors! He seemed to like these better than anything else, except ice cream. We’ll arrive back in Tokyo on 7/23 PM and I’ll stream from the airport to get back at it!!
