This one is not quite in the finishing stages to show you all a sneak peek of its restoration progress. That said, I feel like I should give you at least one screen grab during a pivotal moment in Techno-Cracked (1933), with Flip the Frog. This is sourced from a 35mm preservation element—a rarity considering many of the circulating copies (namely, the Cartoons That Time Forgot video releases) are from 16mm prints.
I'll be sure to show you all further progres...

Hey, guys! Just recently, I've been honored to do film clean-up on a George Pal Puppetoon, Wilbur the Lion (1947), one of the last in the series. This is something of a rarity, since the original negatives seem to be missing (or worst case, deteriorated) and Paramount has no 35mm materials in their archives. Luckily, animator Mark Kausler loaned his 35mm Technicolor release print to use in a Blu-Ray compilation of George Pal's stop-motion films. Thankfully, this title was not a...

Oh, man! It’s pretty neglectful of me not to update the Patreon page in a while. I’m truly sorry about that. How’s about I make it up to you?
Since my last post, I have done digital clean up/restoration on perhaps everyone’s favorite in the Flip the Frog series, Room Runners (1932). Full of naughty Pre-Code humor, this element is sourced from the original 35mm master positive. (For the uninitiated, a master positive is made directly from the original ...

Just last night, I finished initial clean-up on Cilly Goose, a Noveltoon from 1944 produced by Paramount's Famous Studios in New York. This was sourced from a 16mm Kodachrome print in the collection of animation historian/author Thad Komorowski (Sick Little Monkeys: The Unauthorized Ren and Stimpy Story).
In a few days, I should recieve a new batch of films to restore. Hopefully, this means more Flip the Frog, but anything else would be good!

I understand that I intended to show the "before/after" comparisons of the film restorations I am involved with to patrons only. I thought it over more, and maybe it would be fair to show a brief sample from various clips to the public.
I selected three specific films: two Flip the Frogs, Movie Mad (1931) and Soda Squirt (his last cartoon from 1933), along with a Noveltoon, The Bored Cuckoo (1948), produced by Paramount's Famous Studios in New York. Hope...

Finished the initial clean-up work on the 1933 Flip the Frog cartoon Bulloney, sourced from a 35mm dupe positive. On the left is from the raw scan, and the right is the clean-up. This will be released on Thunderbean Animation's upcoming Flip the Frog Blu-Ray set, which will contain all 38 of his cartoons.
