Summer, hot air balloons and a paddle steamer

I'm not a fan of winter. It's too long, so here are some summer clips of my life outside YouTube for you to enjoy. I shot them as a low-light test of my smartphone, but thought I would edit it now to remind myself and you of the niceness of summer to come :o)

Vertical? The Earth's Magnetic Field?!?!

I was surprised by the true direction of the magnetic field vector at my place. In this video, I show you how to find it with a sphere magnet. I also explain the logic behind the direction using a simple model of our planet.

Monster magnet meets flames...

When I first saw the effect of a strong magnet on a candle flame I was... well, in lack of better words to describe my facial expression: flabbergasted.

In the video I have just uploaded, I try to explain the surprising effect in three ways. Let me know, if you have other inputs that could explain the effect.

It doesn't appear to be thoroughly explained by scientists yet. Maybe because it is inherently difficult to measure inside a flame without affecting it or the probe...

808 and/or 1064 nm leakage? IR-cards with goggles on?

I didn't include all filmed clips about the IR-leakage in the two latest videos. But now you have a chance to see, if the IR-cards can be used with goggles on. And I try to answer if my lasers are leaking 808 and/or 1064 nm infrared.

I can see infrared?!?

There were many questions on my latest video about infrared leakage from green DPSS lasers - and since it is about a serious issue I have made this follow-up video.

I'll adress the visibility of infrared, why it isn't enough to just avoid the beam and even check if my safety glasses protect against the infrared beam.

And since this is the first patron-supported video, I also have a premiere on the credits to you! Hope you like it. Thank you so much :)

Where are you from?

I'm curious. We're off to a great start here, and I would like to know where all of you generous people come from?

Pick your continent in the poll and maybe comment with your country too. If you want to be totally anonymous, that's alright too. But I'm sure the community here will be very friendly compared to... well, any other public place on the internet.

Looking forward to seeing the result of this poll.

Exotic cars at Sportscar Event June 2018

One of my hobbies is cars. I like 'em loud, fast or just beautiful. Some of my favorites are all three ;) Here are some clips from the Sportscar Event I attended in June 2018. I didn't film all vehicles (there were so many), but I have chosen some exotic ones to share with my patrons. One is unique!

Opening a $2,270 HDD with the capacity of a CD...

Sometimes I film way more than I actually end up using in my video. Here's an extreme example, where I filmed enough extra material for a whole video in itself but ended up using only a few seconds of it in the original video. I just wanted to document, when I opened this rare HDD - which it probably hasn't been since 1990...
