Taming of the Shrew is a divisive play that is almost impossible to produce on the modern stage.

In those realms where wanderers are expected to operate within a structure of laws, it is not uncommon to find guilds sealed to royal patents or the like responsible for their charge. Nor, with members of such potent powers, is it unusual for such guilds to exceed the intentions of their original mandate.
And, of course, it is not unusual to find such guilds offering strange and wondrous services to the benefit of their protected members. Among these guilds, it is not uncommon to find the use o...

The Alexandrian has been relatively quiescent in April and May due to a series of "delightful" crises and illnesses that have struck me and mine.
However, I'm aiming for a series of high-pace releases through the remainder of May and I'm hoping to be back on track with a more regular schedule of content in June.
We're kicking things off here with an overview of the Alexandrian Remix of the Eternal Lies campaign for Trail of Cthulhu. I developed a ton of really cool material for this campaign a...

I changed the scheduling on some of the upcoming archival reviews, so some of the stuff from the previous May 2015 early access PDF has been pushed to June. But between that PDF and this PDF, you'll have the complete content.
This PDF includes:
- Enchanted Worlds (Gaming Outpost)
- Enchanted Worlds (Games Unplugged)

This early access PDF covers all the Shakespeare Sundays from May. I directed and starred in a theatrical production of this epic poem during the Minnesota Fringe Festival a few years back.

In the middle of an age-rotten grotto there sits a squat statue of crude clay grasping a bowl of filth-encrusted malachite. The bowl appears to glow from within, lighting the face of the statue in a light which some might describe as dancing and others as demonic. (Perhaps it depends on the expression which the statue bears upon any particular viewing. A study of various sketches made of the statue would seem to suggest that it is an expression which has changed over time… or which is perhaps ...

A blast from the past! This article was originally published in Games Unplugged in 2001. The interviews, however, were cut from the finished articled and appear here for the very first time. (Although they are mostly of historical interest at this point.)
This series will be appearing on off-content days at the Alexandrian in mid-April.

I thought I was finished with the Railroading Manifesto, but some interesting discussion sprung up around it on G+ that prompted me to develop some additional thoughts.

The material on chokers turned out to take about three times as much space as I thought they were going to, so they've been split into two separate posts.
Now that they're finally done, though, I'm able to send out a PDF containing the full Railroading Manifesto!

I'm making some changes to the reward structure for the Patreon. The new reward levels look like this:
$0.25 - You're a Patron!
$0.50 - Curious Item Club
$1.00 - Early Access
$2.00 - Hangout Club
$5.00 - Article Request
$10.00 - Game Every 3 Months
$25.00 - Game Every Month
The key changes are that the thresholds for the Curious Item Club and the Hangout Club have been lowered. (They were previously $2 and $3 respectively.)
This change is mostly about letting more people benefit from these re...

This series is not yet done, but I've gotten a bit tangled up in the final installment (where I'll be discussing chokers) and need to take a break from it. So I'm pushing out the first three parts to all the Early Access patrons now and I'll follow up with the chokers whenever I manage to wrestle them into submission.

One of the problems a lot of RPG sourcebooks have is that they don’t include enough practical, game-able material: The type of stuff that you can actually bring to the table and start playing with. Over the past few years, however, I’ve started leveraging a lot more utility out of my RPG setting sourcebooks by simply rolling back the clock.
Perhaps the easiest way to explain what I mean is by way of example.

This sample of Lovecraftian horror was inspired by reading Ramsey Campbell's "The Voice of the Beach" in close proximity to Kenneth Hite's TRAIL OF CTHULHU and realizing that what Campbell was describing could be interpreted as another entry in the utterly alien biology of Lovecraft's "Colour Out of Space".
And that really opened up the concept of the Colour for me: Once I really started delving into the different potential facets of its memetic feasting, a lot of really interesting stuff start...

The first part of this set isn't really early access because I just got done proofreading it, adding the graphics, and posting it 10 minutes ago. But the attached PDF includes the additional colours that will be posted on Friday.
I'm working on some larger projects in the background, so trying to keep up with the regular schedule of updates is a little tougher at the moment. But hopefully the long-term payoff will be worth it.
