I've gotten some feedback here and there that my use of "left" and "right" to describe orientation of features in the game is sometimes confusing, given that these terms are relative to your position. I've approached their use from the philosophy of "You're always standing at a fixed point in the room or area, examining things," but this gets especially weird in areas like the upstairs hallways that interlock at both ends.

Well, my visiting family cleared out a tiny bit earlier than expected, so I did sneak in a bit more work over the weekend,
Altogether, I managed to get 3 of the interaction points written, but no work on the new ending.

I've made some good progress so far this week. I've done some fixing on older elements that now need to tie back into the new room, and I've finished one of the four new interaction points, with a second well underway.

Surprise release!
Ended up with some extra time to do some debugging today, so I was able to finish up V1.4.1 faster than expected.
Updated in this release:
Fixed bug that prevented entering the maids' quarters under certain circumstances.
Fixed typo in Olga conversation options.
Fixed bug that caused maids' quarters name to not display after room was explored.

Super quick news:
I've managed to get most of what I wanted to do buttoned up with V1.4.1. Now I just need to do a few test runs to make sure it's all working relatively well, and I'll be releasing the new version, hopefully no later than Saturday!

Happy belated Halloween, Patrons!
I've managed to track down the error causing the bug and fixed it. Plus, I've fixed a few embarrassingly obvious typos (no doubt missing others...) But I'll be holding off on release of V1.4.1 for at least a few more days.
I'm currently working to wrap my head around some coding for a new feature and, if I can manage to get it working, I'm going to throw it into this new version.

Well, when I made the roadmap for last week, I secretly had a goal of getting 1.4.0 out by today. Happily, I made it happen by late last night.
I'll be largely taking this week as a break, with the caveat that a bug has been brought to my attention from V 1.3.0. I'll spend some time this week trying to fix that, and I'll release a 1.4.1 to address it, once fixed.

It was a very productive week, and I was able to squeak out the finishing touches on Version 1.4.0. The new content was much more limited this time, so debugging went much faster.

As I mentioned in my mini update, I was able to accomplish all of the goals for last week handily. I had a couple of days with plenty of free time, and all of it went toward the game's development, uninterrupted. The hallway and new room have been added. Development is going well. One room is added and the bulk of the coding for the new feature has been finished. It was a bit tricky to implement, but I think I've got it, now. This will be the first truly "random" element in the game, as it's a scene that simply may or may not trigger (though there is a way to ensure that it eventually does trigger if you want to be sure you see all the content). It's been a crap week. I'll spare all the details, but I've pretty much caught crap from 4 different directions this week.
Debugging has been going well (only minor fixes needed so far), but a lot slower than I had hoped due to all the nonsense eating up my time.
I very well may still be able to get 1.3.0 buttoned up by the end of the weekend, but we may be looking at a release early next week.

Well, as I mentioned in my brief update in the middle of last week, life saw fit to rain down all hell on my schedule. I spent multiple days at the vet with a sick pet (she's mostly fine now, so no need to fear) and even more time force feeding meds to said pet. Also had a sudden visit that took up a few days. It's been sort of an insane week. A sudden family visit and multiple vet trips for a sick cat have cropped up so far, and it's just now Wednesday.
I have been making steady but slow progress on the dialogue passages around all the other insanity, but it's clear that this week will be less productive than I hoped. My initial optimism that there was a chance I finish the dialogue this week is mostly gone unless I get a ton of unexpected free time.
