Still Cleaning Up

I'm going through the demo over and over, cleaning up bugs typos as I run across them and generally cleaning up things so that it looks a bit nicer (for example trying to eliminate giant spaces between paragraphs or walls of text). It's a pretty daunting undertaking, but I'm slowly making headway.

I've also found some pretty messy bits with one of the endings that seems to cause some screwy issues if you take certain paths. Hopefully I can sort that all pretty quickly.

We're in the final stages!

The demo version is at a "rough complete" stage now. That's right. All of the prose and basic coding for the demo is complete, and I've done a few test plays to ensure nothing major is breaking.

I'll be spending the next day or two running it through its paces to ensure I've not missed anything glaring, but after that, it'll be time to release the initial demo version of Enter the Expansion Mansion!

Debug Time!

I'm taking a breather from writing that final passage (it's a small thing that'll be pretty quick) to do some test runs of the game and BUGS EVERYWHERE!

Thankfully, I'm pretty sure I've already pinpointed the cause of 90% of them and will just need to correct the code. A major case of deja vu would suggest I ran into this issue before I had to take a year long break from the project and simply forgot when I came back to it. Oh well. At this time, I don't expect the bugs to cause any kin...

6/14 Progress Report

I might be able to squeeze in a bit more work today, but as of right now, I've finished all of the demo endings. Ultimately, it ended up being 3 endings for the demo (the one that I had split apart ended up just making sense as a single ending, though what you do in the story will cause it to vary itself quite a bit).

Pretty much, there's endings 1, 2, 3a, and 3b.

All that's left is a single passage to be written and linked up with the rest of the story, and all that clean up work...

Final Location Passage Nears Completion

I've had a lot to deal with today, but I've managed to get a good bit of work done in between other obligations.

I'm finalizing the final location passage (the last "room" in the demo area) and its various offshoots right now, and that will leave only two endings (another one cropped up, which brings the demo back to 4 total endings, not counting minor variations on those) and clean-up work to get done before the demo is released.

Another Productive Day

Well, after several hours of work on the game, I've finished the second growth sequence, fixed a bunch of code, cut out some early lactation bits that are going to be reintegrated into some later parts of the game, and tweaked some aesthetic touches to clean up things.

All in all, I did a bit more than I planned for the day, so I'm happy.

New Growth Sequence in Process!

Today's big project is to write up the prose for the second growth sequence and get the code integration functional.

I've also noticed a pretty annoying oversight from the first growth sequence that will need to be corrected to future proof. Basically, the growth sequences are able to be plugged in whenever you cause more growth to occur, but the one of the growth opportunities includes some prose that really only makes sense in the first sequence, so it would read weird if you skip tha...

Progress progressed!

It was a pretty fruitful day.

The second demo ending was finished and a butt load of cleanup was done on various bits of the game.

Tomorrow looks to be a similarly productive day, so I hope to finish another ending and a new short expansion scene. It's coming along!

Day of Progress Begins!

I've been chipping away at progress on Enter the Expansion Mansion off and on throughout the week, but it's now Sunday! And I have no real plans all day, so I expect to make some serious headway toward getting the real Demo 1 finished today (but probably won't actually get it finished today).

I've got one ending nearly finished and a second ending underway. Those will be two of the four possible demo endings, with other story branches leading to a "Demo has ended" message.

Development is back underway!

It's been a shit year. I've had some really shitty health problems that made doing anything on my computer a huge headache, and developing Enter the Expansion Mansion on my phone wasn't happening.

But I'm on the mend now, and I'm getting back to work!

I've made some good headway into creating the initial demo, so I'm hoping to have that available in the coming weeks.

Demo for "Enter the Expansion Mansion" in development

I'm well into development on the first real demo for my first interactive expansion story. The title is "Enter the Expansion Mansion" and yes, it's a reference to the old Expansion Mansion forums from back in the day.

I am still working out a few bugs and have a few more segments to write, but I plan to publish it here in the coming week or two.

The demo will have one full ending (the shortest one in the story) and at least one expansion sequence (depending on your choices).
