It's my birthday :)

Soooo, as I say in the previous post, I'd like to take a day off or maybe making some sketching for the upcoming sketch poll. If you remember the Shigure piece came out of last one and it is currently my most liked piece on Twitter and it's half there on Pixiv as well, so I'd like to repeat that if possible.

Besides that I guess I'll just space out for a bit and eat until I explode from my insides. I hope you guys have a good day too :)

February Rewards Preview

After finishing the last piece I thought I had a very tight schedule to finish one last commission and the Character Contest winner for this month. I thought it was possible if I sacrifice a few hours of sleep to have the alst two artworks of February completed before the month ended. Then I remembered February only has 28 days.

Chocolate Insomnia [4 variations + nsfw + steps + sketch]

Based on the opening for Second Season, specifically the Tsubasa Tiger Arc, this was an unexpected Monogatari piece. Last year I stopped making these since I was not very happy with my level at that time, and this idea was lingering around since then.

Again, thanks to KM7834 for allowing me to transform his comission into this. I don't know if it's worthy of being called my best piece to date but I'm really proud of it!

Chocolate Insomnia

Commission color rough

So this is where all the chocolate went. The original idea for the commission was just one of these characters (as stated by my terms), but the idea for this just came to my head and it was too good to skip it.

I should really make color roughs more often. It helps giving a clearer idea of the general vibe of the piece, so it should mean less time figuring out color palettes, lighting moods and such things.

Finally done... I swear not only to you but to myself this will be the last time I'll spend so much time in a single piece of artwork. I still not very much convinced with this but I can't afford to spend anymore time on this piece.

Also, you may notice a lack of chocolate, but I decided to save all of it for my next artwork idea, you will not be disappointed you'll see ;)

Finally done... I swear not only to you but to myself this will be the last time I'll spend so much time in a single piece of artwork. As you can see I included 2 of the most acceptable from the 30 sketchs I did. I'm still not very much convinced with this but I can't afford to spend anymore time on this piece.

Marin (Valentine) wip

Finally I was able to overcome the artblock, this new piece should be done in a couple of days, maybe three (?. As you see this will be a Valentine piece, so I hope you haven't had enough chocolate ;)

I was able to understand a couple of things about my mindset and workflow thanks to this experience, so hopefully I would be able not only to get back to normal, but to improve on my work output.

Marin (failed piece)

Hey guys... I hope you spent a good valentines, I refrained myself of coming here and ruining the mood but I spent the 14 and yesterday in a pretty bad mood, and since it's art related I just had to speak sooner or later.

As you see in the title, I decided to scrap this Marin piece. After a week of trying I just wasn't feeling it. This may look good enough for you, and I really appreciate the feedback of the both of you who commented, but still in't good enough for me. I will include it...

Shizuku-tan from Bisque Doll (safe version)

Gojou and Marin revisiting their favorite scenes from Nurujyo 2, the game that features Kuroe Shizuku :)

Initially I thought this would be an easy one since I didn't have to bother making a sfw version, but I later struggled really hard with the layer management since I wanted to do a nude verison and the pose made it REALLY HARD to do so, specially on the frills and her head visibility. But luckily I finally learned how to properly work with the layer masks so it turned out fine.

Marin sketches

Since I was already noticing the Marin slaughter I went and started doing sketches even when working on the Shizuku piece (that one is already done btw, just a couple more days to figure out how to set up the CG scene), but suddenly my old friend artblock struck in, maybe because since I like Marin so much I'm elevating the bar for me to absurd degrees, or because two mutual artists already did the same idea I had (links below), or maybe something else or all of that combined...

As you see, I'm thinking about a game cg kind of pic where Shizuku-tan is getting railed while Gojou and Marin fangirl all over the scene :)

My only doubt being, what is the most common aspect ratio for eroge Visual Novels CGs?

Finally done! Honestly despite liking how it looks I'm feeling I'm setting myself the bar down specially after Shigure. During the process I felt lost and at some point I was just throwing ideas on the canvas, so I'm actually surprised it turned out this well.
