For this piece I tried applying a grisaille pass (a pass where everything is black and white), I noticed it wasn't giving me the colors I wanted halfway through so I ended up doing a ton of layer juggling to turn them into viable base colors. Grisaille never truly works for me.

This piece has quite a history: i did a blockout during a stream but wasn't happy about it. So I did a big rework of it (visible in the timelapse), in the meantime I spent a long time to study light and volume in order to improve and also be prepared for teaching. In a way this cooked so long because i could apply all the improvements i could ad i went on practicing.

I'm writing a quick note to inform you all that I switched the patreon's currency from us-dollars to euro to simplify my management.
I followed a Patreon conversion chart to match the amounts, because Patreon uses an internal scheme not based on real currency values. For the second one, the wererat, i went to experiment on ways to complement grisaille and the usual fast method i use for shading those commissions. I think this technique is overkill and more suited to fully detailed paintings, but the result is interesting.
