This month's basic bit is a wheelbarrow for any kind of rural or crafting building setting!
It will add a nice detail to any farm, mine or any other place where you need to move stuff from A to B :-)
It contains, surprise, surprise
If you want to thank someone, thank my Patreons who make this possible with their support!

I have been working on this new little bit the past few days. I have seen one like that at a garden shop when I was in the Salzkammergut region and liked the shape and size very much.

I changed the position of the handles and the wheel a bit and tinkered until I have the right size for the table and after texturing it I am quite happy to have this addition to the farm theme! It's big enough to ...

I am back from my break / holiday. I enjoyed giving my shoulder a rest. I didn't experience much shoulder pain at all so I think this was a good call. I have to see how it will develop now that I am back at the PC again but I feel very motivated to do my exercises. It's just more fun when there is little or no pain :-)
And my mind rested too ... come to think of it. We were lucky with the weather. This region in Austria is famous for prolonged rainy weather periods. But we took rain gea...

The last days I have completed the fold-flat adaptions for the optional build version. This is the assembled version ...

... and the disassembled one!

On the last pic you some some markings on the side tabs of the front wall. These are for when you want to also connect the fences. The small tab p...

I am almost done with the stables! I think I have got all the layers and options added. The final thing I am working on are ground tiles, like the single stable one in the pics above. I will also make one for stable+fence.
Here is a look at the weathered versions.

I have also added a stone variant.

This month's fireplace model is another in the series of interior bits.
Use it to add detail and them to any interior, ranging from small rooms to large halls!
It contains
- core fireplace module
- optional brass top

In thanking them I will give them the same with a little more options, so if you like my work consider joining

After some tweaking I settled on the texturing for the hearth model. Details like the bolt got lost on this metal background (compared to the wooden planks I have used them on so far) so I had to do a couple of test prints and get them to become readable again.
The above shot shows the fireplace without the metal top (optional). And I have added the exterior chimney in the pic to show how the hearth is compatible sizewise.

For this months interior bit we have decided to go for the fireplace. So here is my first test build. The top is too thin (will make it more deep) but the rest should work fine.
I had it in mind for the tavern room I am working on.

Here with some more furniture from the previous sets :-)

Continuing the farm theme I am working on the small stables now. These are some closed build tests. I will also make open version that could work for just storing stuff or wagons.
I also started with some fences. I have no idea how to connect them yet. My usual solution would be to just place the single elements on bases like paperminis (like the single fence element). But maybe with the fold-flat slot style I can make something work to connect the fences to the houses. So for the pic I...

For the stables and barns I am working on the wooden plank textures. While I am still detailing the final options of the stables I thought I make a wooden plank version of the farm house in a break. I will also make a horizontal plank version as alternative. I might also make a new roof option for this look so there is no overlap in the products.

For the release of the Basic Editions on DriveThruRPG I made this video to clarify the differences between the editions available.
Recorded the video with my phone, the audio with the free Audacity app and then edited with the free and awesome Blender suite. Had to upgrade my know-how quite a bit but I hope in the end the final result made it worth it :-)

I am still in the aftermath of the farmhouse release. I have received so much feedback and am working my way through it. The stables will have to wait a bit more :-)
Above you see the start of my exploration of an extension of the main building. I am testing how large it can be without having to split parts over pages and also how to connect it best.
Then I am in the process of making the BASIC Edition of the small farmhouse. They should be released next week. They will be three l...

This month's is a great expansion for any set of buildlings: the Lean-To!
It works as a small stand alone building or an extension of a larger one.
It contains
- wooden texture lean-to (3x1")
- window and door options for front and back side
- a clean/pristine and a weathered/aged version
If you want to thank someone, thank my Patreons who make this possible with their support!

I am working on this months "Basic Bit" compatible with the new farm houses: the lean-to!
The free version will have the wooden skin. The advanced Patreon one will have many, many options compatible with the farm house! :-)
It will work stand alone too!

But mostly I see it as a great option to expand the looks of (any, not only the farm) houses.

Just wanted to let you know that I have added the bonus extras to the DELUXE edition on my Gumroad shop.

For the DELUXE edition I want to add some bonus content, as the set has been very well received in the short time since release.
I have thought about making the extra doors and window shutters from the start and I prepared the full roof underside texture in the process of creating the underside tabs of the roof. I then added the roof framework and isolated some wall framework options for double up detailing of the walls.
This is a test build of the interior roof option. Should be ...

Sorry for the long update break but I had a flu incident (not Covid - I got tested! :-) ). I had to take it a bit slower but I managed to get a lot done.
As you can see in the pic above I got the interior files done with some toned versions of dirt. During the process of taking photos for the instructions I also added the fold-flat adaptions for walls, roof and add-on chimneys.
Here's the disassembled walls ...

I have added a couple of saturated style color options for the roof. Here's all the ones I have thought of already. You can modify them with the usual bleached/lighter/darker/warmer/cooler layers for fine tuning. Let me know if you miss a color of choice!

I am also working on the chimney module. I have started with the optional external chimney block (with the red roof pic) and will make smalle...

the last days I was working on the new basic bit. It should be no surprise as to what it is :)
I am almost done with the bar, so I thought I show you what I have as I will be a day or two late for the release.

The farm buildings will keep me busy for a while but I see a full blown tavern buildin...

I have added a thatched roof option and also made the dormer window modules. With these basic roof patterns, color variations and the six different dormer positions you should have more than enough options for quite a large village of unique looking buildings! :-)
I have to add some weathering and moss options for the roof but I hope to get that done quickly.
For the dormer front I have these options available now.

I skipped April 1st so it was clear there are no jokes :-) Today I can show you the resolution of how I ended up doing the window shutters and doors. I just love you can toss out your questions to the internet and you get really good answers. Thanks to all who helped out with their ideas and feedback.
I also worked on a couple of variations of glass windows. Might not have been the real thing for small farm house like this, but I think I got the process down now. Can use that for when I...

Here's a very early texturing "draft". It shows the "framework" variant of the house. Options include different locations for door and windows, different filler material (clay, drystone) and dormer windows and chimney.
On the next pic I have chosen a full drystone wall, like I have seen on a lot of foam core builds.

While working on the doors and windows I have stumbled across a question....

After blocking the sizes I have been going through all the buildings I want for the farm setting and made quick prototypes. I added some more. The barn turned out to be so huge (rightfully so) that I wanted to make an alternative smaller barn for those with smaller shelf space :-) I also made a small lean-to for the farm house. This lead me to make a small and large farm setting. I have blocked the large farmhouse but have not made a prototype. I want to let that one simmer in my head a bit a...
