Chapter 20

[Stamina] was a very peculiar subject to think about. It was the movement system in its entirety, everything relying on it. If a creature wanted to walk, it would take Stamina gradually. If it ran, it would take more. Each jump, each step, each bite took a small or large bit of stamina out of a very limited pool. This total could be improved upon with attribute points, but that didn't matter much for the argument.

What did matter was the fact that it required so much? Or, no, t...

Chapter 19:

As it turned out. Not everything needed to be tested out. While the Core would have loved to find an upper limit, it was unable to find anything noteworthy. At around one hundred and fifty kilos worth of pressure, the fifty Mana Cube was destroyed. It was then replaced by a hundred Mana cube, which was yet again destroyed, though the Core hadn't truly been paying attention to the weight at that time. Then… the Entity had come up with a side question. Was there a limit to reinforcement?

New [Skill] has been acquired!

You have learned: [Pain-Tolerance]

Two new skills had been learned. It was more than initially expected, the Core only having been going for one of them. It had been known since the very early one that the Mana being used was a bit different from the one inside itself yet still not enough ch...

Chapter 17

Dedication to honing one's mind was incredible. Even with the knowledge that everything had the possibility of going haywire at a moment's notice, the Core was without pause, was without stray thoughts, and was most importantly without any hesitation at all. For the thirteenth time in the past minute, it moved the water out from the container, letting it hang in the air through an act of will and Mana put together. It was an act of intent making its presence known to the physical world. And i...

Chapter 15: Untitled

Cultivating [Moss] was a very curious process. Or, it was certainly one that the Core found interesting, able to see the [Giant-Ants] working in tandem to create the best environment for the plants constantly. Never did a minute go by without one of the creatures making small adjustments to the water levels to keep it at ideal conditions. The Core was still unsure of what exactly counted as such, but the creatures very clearly knew, the group so hard-working to make sure that it was maintaine...

Chapter 14: Untitled

The act of [Healing] was great to have, the skill providing much-needed utility while also putting off a burden that the Core knew that it would have to carry. That being the fact that none of its creatures could heal as quickly as they needed to. Sure, they had the natural regeneration to keep them afloat, and the air packed tight with Mana certainly helped accelerate it even more, yet there still wasn't close enough to actually provide a meaningful edge while in combat.

It was all too...

Chapter 13: Untitled

Testing out the healing factor of the creatures was the first thing the Core decided to move forward with. While it did indeed long to look over at the very colourful and vibrant materials lying over by the side of its sight, the Entity knew that the injuries on the ants would regenerate by itself if given enough time alone. And, with how the Core knew it could be when focusing on a single thing, that time would surely pass had it chosen the easy route first.

So with a swift or...

Chapter 12: Untitled

The Core was beginning to think that it was getting better at creating creatures. Yes, it didn't truly understand what it was actually doing. It understood the process of doing it perhaps, but it didn't understand the more specific concepts behind it. What decided which chemical of the hundred would be chosen at what point in the armour when only a single colour was used on it all? Was it a gradual change that depended on the proximity of the inner layer of Mana? Or was it dependent on the in...

Chapter 10: Untitled

What were Giant Ants? Breaking it down into the two words attached to the creature, the first was of course a description of its size. It was quite large, after all, bordering on massive when compared to the Core. And when sat next to other Ants, the entity doubted that it would be much different, the sizes of the creatures so large that it was hard to truly fathom without anything to compare it to.

But there was, of course, also the other part of their name. the ‘Ant’ part. What wa...
