You see that little resistor in the video thumbnail? That's the bit that seems to fail on these unusual little lamps.
The lamps are commonly used on strings of festoon cable, and it appears they can be "dooby'd" to any intensity (and longer lamp life) that you desire.

The single most frustrating thing about this teardown is that I hovered over the two screws through the LED panel before deciding to leave them in place. It turned out that the heatsink plate would have come out easily if I had removed them.

I thought I'd get a proper pleated filter "air purifier" from eBay. It's quite nice in a physical sense, although the circuitry isn't quite perfect.

The Blackview phone has a very sensitive Sony camera chip that can see faint corona discharge.
This is a module out of a Sharp Plasmacluster unit which applies a positive and negative voltage to needles in front of metal rings of the opposite polarity. It's interesting to see that the positive side has a brighter corona discharge than the negative. I wonder if that's for a specific reason or if it's just the way the transformer is run with single polarity pulses, so the current...
This makes a change from the small 12V batteries. The range was also good and the standby current unmeasurable at less than a microamp.
But opening this switch to change the battery may break it.

This turned out a lot more complex than I was expecting. It isn't just operating as a simple timer, but more as a time accumulator which also responds to the defrost termination thermostat.
I went off camera when I turned the blue cam over. It has two spiral ramps that reset the contacts slowly (while they still make contact) and then clicks between them in both directions...

This video is not as good as the next two which are currently uploading. If anything I thought the circuitry and current capability was a bit of an anticlimax.
The thumbnail text generator doesn't appear to do lower case, so it's not actually a 500 Mega Amp charger. That would have been MUCH more exciting.
