Path to Prosperity - B2 Chapter 52

Since the revelation of Percy’s identity several days had passed. It hadn’t always been easy, especially with his parents asking numerous questions…questions he didn’t have an answer to, but it worked out fine. He’d told them almost everything he knew while also sharing his worries. That he didn’t feel like the crown prince, let alone like it was just for him to be the rightful heir to the throne.

Of course, it would help his Ego if he were to ascend the throne in the future...

Path to Prosperity - B2 Chapter 51

“Have you heard the most recent news?” One of the servants in the royal palace looked at an older colleague, “The crown prince has returned from the dead.”

The old servant clicked his tongue, “He didn’t return from the dead. The crown prince was never dead.”

“You say that now! Before the crown prince returned, you said something else. Didn’t you say that you saw the Devil the child! That the child’s soul was taken by the Devil! Was all of that a lie?” The ser...

Percy was seated opposite Sophia and around the corner of the Queen, who smiled at him. But he was tense and uncomfortable. How could he feel comfortable eating with the royal family?

The servants didn’t help him release the tension either. They treated him in an overly lovely manner, almost like he was more important than the rest of the royal family. That was enough to make his hair stand up to its end.

He was given various utensils to work with as the food was bro...

Path to Prosperity - B2 Chapter 49

Instead of proceeding to determine whether everyone’s doubts were valid or if it all was just a big mistake, the King chose to postpone the grand final to the next day.

“I think we have a lot to talk about,” Phillip Kain said to Paul Reeze in a severe tone. Paul agreed with a simple nod.

The Queen turned to Percy. Her lips parted, but she didn’t say anything when she noticed how overwhelmed he was. She pressed her lips together and nodded slowly.

“I think it would ...

The fist of an old man crashed heavily onto a heavy wooden desk, shaking it thoroughly.

“So the assassins did not only fail miserably, but you also lost track of him…only for him to appear in the royal forest? Are you fucking stupid?!?! How could you lose that kid? It’s not like he’s a trained assassin!” The man cursed, his eyes glowing vividly. He pulled his long silverish hair back in a huff and stared deep into the twisting shadows next to him.

“We acted low profile...

Percy wasn’t sure what the conversation between the two women meant until he recalled something.

I was supposed to meet the queen this morning? Are they serious?

Various thoughts flashed through his mind, but none stuck and remained. They dispersed long before Percy could grasp what was going on. As the myriad of thoughts entered his mind and dispersed, Percy’s eyes never diverted from the queen.

This was insane.

The tension in the air grew happier, ...

“First, Percy decided to ignore the meeting and disappeared, and now the princess is missing as well. How could their maid lose Sophia? She isn’t that fast and never threw a tantrum. The little girl is responsible and knows not to worry anyone. So why now?” Paul Reeze cursed softly.

He glanced at his wife, who smiled gently at him. Unlike most people looking for the princess, the duchess wasn’t worried. She stood next to her husband in the clearing of the royal forest and patted...

A young girl with long, silky black hair and azure eyes roaming through the royal forest without worries could only be the princess of the Kainesh Kingdom.

That was unexpected, to say the least, but it wasn’t advantageous.

If she tells someone that I’ve entered the royal forest without permission, they’ll execute me…right? Or will the king have mercy because I helped his daughter? I don’t really feel like playing with my life on the line.

Escaping civilization and leaving behind all responsibilities, from time to time, worked wonders.

Percy slept like a stone. The tension left his body throughout the night as the nocturnal creatures opened their eyes. The creatures of the night weren’t silent and probably a threat to an unguarded young man like Percy, but he wasn’t worried. He slept through the night without any worries on his mind.

The wake-up call arrived with the rise of the sun. A cacophony of sounds follow...

“It’s not my fault trouble is coming my way,” Percy murmured, but that didn’t help with Melissa’s deadly glare. If anything, Melissa looked like she considered killing him on the spot. That was…not good.

Percy hurriedly walked around the wooden counter and tried ignoring Melissa as he headed for the eveewood door. He channeled mana into the runic enchantment and deactivated [Alarm] before turning to the remaining customers.

“I apologize. That was a test to s...

The brothers didn’t stay long in the Dragon Lair shop. They came early to talk to Percy and make sure that he was doing fine, but they had to leave for the morning training session.

Erik and Tarlek asked Percy to create Master Artifacts for them when he had the time and money to do so. Customized Elite Artifacts were already precious and hard to come by, but Master Artifacts were even harder to come by. Still, as future Imperials, the brothers were in need of better equipment. The guard saved himself by putting all the blame on the Golden Koi. The Golden Koi was a medium-sized shop – the owner probably being the one who’d bribed the three guards and the ruffians – and its main establishment was two streets away from the Dragon Lair.

The Golden Koi had few serious competitors in the vicinity and ignored most smaller shops and vendors, but something must have happened to agitate the Golde Koi’s owner.

Is it because of the Tiagro Sword Ar...

The profit he’d raked was nice, but it felt even better to invest into his employees. Percy wasn’t sure why he felt like that, but the sensation of supporting Bert and helping the siblings did something to him. It allowed him to give back the help he’d received in Raewood and find a perfect balance to the bloody life he’d lived after gaining access to mana.

The first products made from Silvron entered his view underneath the iron armaments. He didn’t recognize them initially but quickly noticed a few major differences between the iron and silvron armaments.

They appeared similar but silvron was more milky. It wasn’t a big difference, but that was mostly owed to the refinement method used to produce silvron ingots. Bert wasn’t proficient at producing silvron just yet, and that was clearly notable.

Percy didn’t know much about Beastmen and the war between the Kainesh Kingdom and the Beastlands, but he’d heard that the king escorted the war slaves back to their homes if they wanted to return. That was also why one would rarely met pure-blooded Beastmen in the Kainesh Kingdom. Most Beastman accepted the offer to return to the Beastlands when the king ushered it.

Sabrina and Louis, on the other hand, were too afraid of the Beastlands to move there. The siblings knew nobody would ...

The bulky Adventurer stumbled backward and landed on the ground with a loud thud. A pained groan escaped his lips while streams of blood poured from his nose.

Is it just me, or is that angsty kid much stronger than he looks?

Percy glanced at Louis for a moment before his eyes fell upon the profusely bleeding Adventurer.

“Someone take him to a Healer,” He said lightly before turning to the counter. His eyes turned ice-cold as he asked, “By abolishing slav...

Percy followed the Adventurer’s advice and slowly increased the prices of his goods. He didn’t go as far as to double the prices of the goods in his shop, but it was enough to notice.

The trio of Adventurers and others noticed the changed prices but didn’t say anything. Everyone living in the capital for a while had already predicted this move. They predicted Percy would increase the prices in his shop after a few weeks – once enough potential customers heard about his items. View Post

Path to Prosperity - B2 Chapter 35

It hadn’t been long since Percy arrived in the capital, and it was only obvious that he lacked important information about various things. That included the prices of potions, Artifacts, and what exactly the prices indicated.

Still, he was bewildered when he heard about deteriorating runic enchantments and Artifacts being sold for a small fortune. No matter how Percy looked at it, selling deteriorating Mortal Artifacts for several dozen silver could only be described as fraud. Because...

Percy had two valuable runic rings to display as his main attractions. One Silvron Ring with [Enhanced Senses] and the Yvelton Ring with [Energy Shield]. The latter was more valuable and could probably be sold for a decent fortune. But even if they were valuable, an Elite Weapon Artifact was probably an even better attraction.

He cast a glance at his Silvron Sword but shook his head.

I’m not going to sell my only weapon. If anything, I need to buy new weapons to equip ...

The elderly woman took his coins without hesitation, but she eyed him with great curiosity.

“Why would someone from your status purchase these potions after everything I have told you?”

“My status?” Percy snickered and added with a shrug, “It shouldn’t matter to you for what purpose I purchase your potions. I’m paying the price. That completes the transaction.”

He stared deep into the vibrant emerald eyes of the elderly woman, “If you want to know why, how ...

Hiring Bert was less problematic than expected. However, Bert felt like he owed Percy a lot for paying his loan.

“Are you sure about that?” Bert asked with the contract in his trembling hands.

Percy was willing to pay his lease, which totaled 50 silver coins a month, in addition to the material cost as a base fee. In addition, Percy would pay Bert a portion of the profit earned through the forged goods he provided.
The portion was small, almost insignificant in most establ...

Apparently, there was a lot to wish for.

Percy didn’t own any furniture other than the one found downstairs. The shelves on the first floor were intact, and the shop was ready to be opened at any time, given he’d procure enough goods to upgrade and sell. However, that shouldn’t be an issue.

Still, before doing anything else, Percy went to a nearby housing shop where he could purchase furniture like wardrobes, beds, and the like. He spent two silver coins for his purchases in...

Today was a really long day. It was still early in the morning, but so much had already happened. Still, Percy felt great. He was in a better mood than he had been for the last few months, knowing he could do whatever he wanted. Basically, at least.

Percy entered a shop near the tailor, purchasing a small knife to trim his beard. There wasn’t much of a beard yet, but the stubbles on his face greatly contrast the well-kept image he wanted to maintain.

Wealthy merchants should know enough about the purity of eyes and the theories revolving around that topic to tell that Percy wasn’t one of their average customers.

Adding high-class clothes from a master tailor should be enough to convince anyone of his heritage.

Even if I have no clue who I am, who says I cannot fool others into thinking of me as one of those pampered noble brats?

The first thing Percy did in the morning was to search the shopping alley. He devised a few interesting plans but most required him to look like an esteemed noble or a wealthy Gifted.

That was how he ended up in one of the more prestigious tailor shops minutes after they opened. The master tailor accepted only customers if one of his returning customers vouched for them. The forest within the capital was calming. It filled Percy with peace, something he hadn’t felt for a while. The tension filling his body for the last few weeks dispersed, replaced by a calm, soothing sensation.

Percy kept a straight face as he walked through his small but comfortable room. His eyes threatened to expose Percy for a moment, but he regained control of himself.

Why is someone else in my room, hiding in the shadows with daggers in his hands? I cannot sense any bloodlust, but it is not like you cannot hide bloodlust. That guy must be an assassin. But why would anyone assassin me? Did I offend someone? The Reeze Duke wouldn’t do something like that while I reside in his Order...
